There were some difficult ups and downs. But, me and my granddaughter are getting good at it. We entered the trail from behind the soccer field. Start of the trail is not where it says it is.

It's a little convoluted to get to the trail, but once you are there... WOW. As a hiker, this trail gives you great exercise and training for harder trail. As it is used a lot of mountain biking, the hills are steep. Besides making the triangle, add the Hogg Loop (flat terrain) to relax and grab miles before making the triangle again to go back. Awesome work-out. I will definitely go back here. But if it rains, your can not go under Memorial Drive (Twice) in order to get to the trail. Mud will keep you out.

Great track, beautiful nature and divers.

Love this trail for a hike with my fur baby. However, the AllTrails map is a little off. If you follow AllTrails map, you actually pick up some of the orange, red, and blue trails near the end. If you follow the park’s markers for the purple trail, the trail is about 1.5 miles. There are some good hills along this trail so a pretty good workout.

Awesome. I walked it on my lunch break. Very pretty.

This is an urban park! As are most MP trails (all but the Triangle, which is off the beaten path), Yellow is heavily trafficked by cyclists, walkers, runners (many with dogs) and is two-way. A bell and call out is advised on blind corners and more often at the busiest times. There are a couple drops that may take a newcomer off guard so heads up...

my dad and i were biking part of this trail. i slowed down to stop, because i wasnt a very advanced mountain biker (one of my wheels got caught on a tree root.) as i was about get back on i saw rustling in the bushes. then, a fairly large coral snake (and i am absolutely sure it wasnt a king snake) slithered out. i told my dad to not go over and poke it because, as some of you guys may know, coral snakes are extremely venemous. this is why i may hesitate to allow younger children or off leash dogs to go on this trail. otherwise, 5 stars!!!

This is a fantastic trail. It is just a short walk from my house so I use it often. Good workout for me and my fur baby. But what is getting disgusting is people who pick up after their dogs BUT THEN LEAVE THE BAG FULL OF POOP ON THE SIDE OF THE TRAIL OR THROW IT INTO THE TREES. What is wrong with you people?

Really great trail for dogs and kids.

I like this trail as it is not filled with Mountain bikers. A little more challenging than the flat purple trail and has a few steep step ups/downs... but a novice can get through easily.

You can color combo this in any color palette you want... Blue and Red will have mountain bikers, while orange does not, but it is considered moderate in my opinion.

Rerating this trail... Not completely easy as there are some sections that have been eroded to make it hard for a "easy" walker to navigate. Sections of this should be upgraded to moderate, but combine this with blue trail and it is a great workout.

Definitely a moderate trail, there are some super tricky sections if you are a newbie or have trouble climbing or stepping up/down. But it is a decent workout. Mountain bikers use the trails, so keep your ears open. They don't slow down for us walkers.

Great hike; we did a combination of the trails since the Purple Trail was washed out in one area. There were hills enough to make the hike a little more challenging than most around Houston.
We were there on a Saturday, and there was heavy traffic with mountain bikers and unleashed dogs. In a few places there is not a lot of room to move out of the way for them, (and some do not slow down at all) so I would hesitate to bring small children. It might be better during the week, but we haven't tried it yet.

Attempted to start off of the purple trail, but got to a section that seemed impassible for EASY. Looks like hurricane may have washed part away. You would basically have to climb down into a ditch and climb back out. As someone just starting to hike and being alone, I was not able to make the LEAP into the ditch, nor climb out. I turned around and hiked purple/orange instead.

Had to have gotten lost somewhere... I was walking the purple trail and I got to an VERY impassible part. Looked like it was washed out from the hurricane. It stopped where the orange trail makes a loop backward. I could not find any other way to get around the purple trail. I decided to take the orange trail back around. So my hike was a combo of purple and orange. Orange is much more moderate trail than the simple purple, but was still fairly easy.
With going half way around the purple and taking orange back, it made the official journey 2.7 miles per my GPS on the alltrails recording.

This trail head was nonexistent.

This is a very fun trail. With ups and downs at 3 to 5 feet, it was just our speed. It was not to wet. We loved it. Perfect trail, we will be back.

This was a horrible trail. Water was covering part of the trail. It would have come up to our knees. It was a big muddy mess. With 10 to 15 foot ups and downs. It was also very steep.

Lots of fun with all the ups and downs. Great trail. It's a little tricky but just our speed. Lots of bikes and dogs. Otherwise we love it.

An excellent trail system that is very well maintained, and serene. Beautiful trees and lots of birds, rabbits and squirrels. A word of caution for all mountain bikers; be on high alert for joggers, distracted pedestrians, and dogs that are not attached with a leash. They will run right in front of you, or pop out around blind corners, so approach corners and banks with caution. While I was biking here, bikers were flying around corners and trail systems, which is ill-advised and is a recipe for disaster. You will have an awesome time here, just be cautious and respectful.

This trail is probably the best trail for mountain biking in memorial park in terms of technical difficulty and flow. There are a lot of rooty spots that give you opportunity to practice your maneuvering skills and the trail doesn’t have a lot of tree overgrowth...yet. Hurricane Harvey decimated some of the other trails in memorial Park (looks like a war zone), but this one remains intact and is my go-to spot for the time being

One of my daily warmup, starter trails. This trail is marked here as 3 miles, but my garmin gps tracking equipment consistently logs it in as 2.4 miles. Even when I tracked once with the AllTrails app, it showed 4 miles, out and back, go figure. Pretty straight forward. Quiet for the most part. Not very challenging, so it's a good trail to increase speed on. Very simple elevation drop downs, but a lot of root cover, so, look down often! The trail offers small alternate offshoots, which is nice to mix it up. Pretty obviously user cared for in certain locations, since it looks like the bikers maintain areas that need attention to benefit their experience. This is an out and back trail, but dumps out across the street from the running/walking path on both ends, so doesn't necessarily need to be, to get back to your starting point. As of sept 21, the drop trail down to the bayou is pretty, but overgrown and cut off by flooding, and clay mud that gums the best of boot lugs.

Did this trail for the first time today (mountain bike) and it was pretty awesome! A little more challenging in spots that I had anticipated but my two co-workers and I made it without too much difficulty and no one bit it!

My girlfriend and I have been wanting to get into trail walking so I got lucky finding this app. Once I downloaded it I found the nearest hard difficulty trail and we ended up having a blast. It was just what we were wanting.
