Lost Maples is a wonderful little park in hill Country Texas. The trail described here is a loop made up of two trails(East trail/West trail). Its a beautiful route with a fun altitude gain on both sections that give rewarding views. I enjoyed the seemingly endless springs along these trails, and the ponds that they flow into, where you can watch the guadalupe bass swim through the crystal clear water.
This whole hike was great, we did not do the very farthest "West Loop." The whole loop was beautiful with the trees just starting to turn. Not too many people on a Thursday either which was nice. We brought a lunch along and it was great to sit by the ponds and enjoy! This was definitely worth the drive from San Antonio.
