: The park offers camping; picnicking; swimming pool (Memorial Day to Labor Day); mountain biking; nature study; fishing (crappie, perch, catfish, and bass); and boating; The Park Store and Marina (936 / 365-3000) rents mountain bikes, paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, and rowboats.

While the scenery is awesome, the trail was filled with mosquitos. And we are not just talking a normal amount. We were in the middle of a nat cloud type swarm of them that you could not escape. Mosquitos bites everywhere. No amount of spray controlled the. Lots of mud right now. Be prepared. 7 mile hike was easily completed.

Easy hike/walk. Trails were not clearly marked and this app did not show all the trails the park map did.

First off most reviews don't show the main trail at this park, the main trail is a straight trail that connects between the loop trail and the oak flat loop near the entrance. The trails easy to hike expect muddy shoes if it's rained recently and the mosquitos are very bad in summer time.

Trails are poorly marked and maintained, as are the campsites, but the views are spectacular.

Not as secluded as hoped for. Goes through a lot of loud campsites, but the views of the lake were pretty sweet.

There are a couple of nice short trails here which are mostly shaded among the pretty pine trees. The trail has a duck pond, butterfly garden and a nice boardwalk. There are also horse rides available at the stable.
