I did these trails on a Mountain Bike. there are a few spots that are decent climbs, nothing really difficult even for a novice such as myself. There are not 8 miles of trails unless you double back a few times. More like 4.5-6 miles. Interesting History to the park and a large campground here as well. There is a ranger station with restrooms and gifts at the entrance.
This trail is great for the recreational hiker or bicyclist. Very easy wide paths mostly of packed dirt/sand mixture. Trail is easy to navigate and does not offer many trailheads throughout preventing opportunities for getting lost or out longer than desired. This is a trail that I may utilize to introduce my 4 year old to offroad bicycling. There are a handful of areas that begin to show promise of a slightly more challenging trail, yet the trail quickly returns to a flat path. The most difficult part of the trail is marked with a "caution" sign. This time of year its threatening overgrowth. Good fun for the recreational hiker.

Trails are easy for a beginner. You might have to walk up a couple of spots. You can change up directions to get more miles in. Lots of shade on the trails & clean bathrooms.
