Fort Parker offers camping, picnicking, swimming in an unsupervised swimming area, fishing, birdwatching, hiking, biking, canoeing, nature study, and baseball/softball.

Nice and secluded. Didn’t see another hiker despite being there the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The trail map you receive at the state park office says there is a nice scenic overlook; you should know that the overlook is roughly 2 miles in.

You will probably see a lot of ground that looks disturbed, as if somebody has tilled it. That's actually where wild hogs have been digging for food. There must be a lot of them in the area.

Overall a nice hike.

Nice and easy hike. Great for checking out some birds. Be ready for some horseflies.

Took a nice leisurely walk on the Springfield trail with my dog. I know Bruno had a good time and so did I.
