Red Oak Trail is the ADA Level 1 section of the 2 trails here. If you want anything other than a leisurely walk, you will need to include Bear Grass which is only an additional .7 mile for a total of 1.7. Bear Grass may be challenging for some, but we are in our mid 60's and did it easily without poles.

Only way to reach Bear Grass trail (the best section) is via Red Oak which is paved. The AllTrails map has you returning on the same section of Red Oak as you went out. No real reason for this, unless you just want to see the same thing again, as the other section of Red Oak (which completes the Red Oak - Bear Grass Loop) is just a tenth of a mile longer. Strongly suggest doing the loop.

Most of Red Oak trail is ADA Level 1. The smaller Bear Grass trail is the only "hiking" part. There are some nice areas, but they go by quickly.

It's a pretty trail. All paved until you reach the Red Oak trail. I'll post a separate review on that one.

This is a super pretty trail with elevation and views all through it. So far this is my favorite park trail just wish it lasted longer.

Great short hike/run but BEWARE of wild boar. Yea...boar. Scared the living daylights out of me and I had to run back to the parking lot.

It was a good hike with beautiful views but it's too short

This is a pretty and quick hike that's tucked away in a neighborhood. In the spring, there are bluebonnets in bloom everywhere at the trailhead. Did this hike with a 5 month old with easy.

Not very challenging cat 4 trail but still fun. Kids enjoyed it. Nice wildlife.

This is not an "Easy" trail! It's a level 4 so don't try it with out proper shoes and trekking pole or walking stick. Beautiful very rugged but satisfying to complete. CRC is basically a mini-me version of nearby Friedrich Wilderness Pk.

Nice small trail on the northwest side of San Antonio. You will sometimes see wildlife including wild turkey and deer. Also, the Texas wildflowers in the spring are beautiful.
