Very easy hike. Trail was in great shape, not many roots, ruts. There were only 5 small groups on the trail on a sunday morning.

Nice short, shaded, and easy trail. There isn't really anything that stands out to me. I prefer riding my bike down this trail instead of hiking.

Nice, easy, quiet trail with lots of shade and minimal elevation changes. Watch out for wasps attracted to sunscreen! Toilet facilities at far end of the loop. Almost a 5 mile trail. Cell reception very spotty.

It is a designated equestrian trail. A sign is posted for no bicycles, but hikers seem to be allowed. The trail is not maintained well, and the horses have destroyed it. Horse flies and ticks are everywhere, thorny vines, and poison ivy have overgrown across the trail. I do not recommend using this trail at all.

It is definitely the horse trail but the rangers at the park said it was for hiking too. We started our hike around 8am and got about 6 miles. It can take more than that if you do every subtrail on the trail. Bring water, there is no short cuts back to camp. When you are in, you're in. We didn't encounter any horses, just their poop. Saw one deer only. Many parts are challenging the deeper into the trail you go.

Easy trail. Elevation changes barely noticeable. Mostly flat.

This is a very peaceful location. My dog and I ran most of it since it is quite flat. We ran other parts of the park since the weather was very grey and windy and there were only a few other people visiting. It is a lovely location and the lack of car sounds is wonderful. I would have liked a longer trail instead of having to redo parts of it. The wildlife is lovely. There is no cell reception as far as I could tell so be prepared to be out of touch for a lovely walk.

This is designated as an equestrian trail but I have hiked it several times if there isn’t anyone with horses at the campsites. Always lots of deer. Great 2-3 hour hike.

Great, easy trail to get some exercise. I always see lots of deer. Can get soggy after a rain.

I visit this trail 2 or 3 times a month, great 2 hour hike on a loop trail. Beautiful scenery.

Park has this trail designated as equestrian trail only.

Hike was well marked and well maintained. It was pretty cool to see the Hog, Coyote, and what appeared to be raccoon prints in the path. However, I do think it should be considered an "easy" route since there wasn't much challenging about it.

My husband and I took our 10 and 11 year old daughters and 5 year old son on this journey. We all enjoyed and found 3 geocaches.

Pleasant hikes in both State parks. The Sulphur river unit is a little more challenging then the Doctor's creek unit. I have encountered wild pigs on the Sulphur river unit trails so be careful.

There are actually two Cooper lake locations. This site directs you to the Dr.'s Creek side. Not the South Sulphur side.

Dr.'s Creek trail review - This is a really simple trail. No hills or challenging maneuvers. If you are looking for a challenging bike ride you will find this pretty boring. If you want a simple stroll or walk this is a great trail. So easy the work hike doesn't fit it.

South Sulphur Trail review - This is a fun trail. It isn't too challenging, but it isn't so easy that its boring.Probably around 5 miles long, but I'm not sure. There are some great hills & slightly rough terrain. This trail is probably a 3 star. I wouldn't make a day trip just to visit this location, but if you are already in the area it is worth it.
