It was a decent trail. There was a lot of trash in some areas. The trail markers need work/updating but all in all it was a good trail. My dog and I enjoyed it.

Easy chill hike. Only downside is there isn't much in terms of change in scenery. Only saw one other person the entire time hiking.

Trails not well marked, but a nice walk

Trails are great, clean (US Army Corps of Engineers). Moderate walk (medium to large rocks, not for bouldering ). Part of the trail is closed to the public (about half of it)... good time guaranteed.

Tough trail but lots of beauty to see along the way. Definitely rocky, proper shoes is a must!

Good challenging trail for a short trail run. It is longer than 5.6 miles. I clocked about 7.2.

really enjoyed this trail. recommend doing it in reverse as the larger loop south segment is completely in the open (sun). then you can spend the rest of the time under the trees. some crazy rocky areas.

Juniper canopy makes this a good hike even with temperatures in the high eighties. Rocky but relatively flat trail. Lots of cardinals, a multitude of old cement picnic tables and wonderful lake views.

Nice moderate hike with good marked trails. We hiked over 2 hours and never saw another person on the trails despite a full parking lot. Were able to stop at the Marina for lunch and adult beverages. Nice outing.

Quiet trail with views of texas forest and the lake. I only saw a few other people on the trail. It did seem longer then the miles posted above but the trail is pretty easy.

This loop hike is actually 8.5 miles! There are mile markers along the trail and that's how I know it it WAAAY longer than 5.6 as stated above. It's really easy terrain just a longer hike. Lots of abandoned picnic tables, boat ramp and bathrooms shelters throughout the hike. Keep your dog on leash though as there are deer. A fun afternoon hike with beautiful views of the lake. We saw only 1 other person on the trail!

Good views along the trail

Moderately difficult terrain. Offers some excellent views of the lake, though often hidden by cedar trees. If you are sneaky you can walk up on one of the dozens of whitetail deer. One of the more fun trails I've hiked. There are many tables along the way to stop and rest or have a picnic. The trail is not well kept up or marked - if you think you've lost the trail, just look ahead a few yards and you'll find it. Would recommend to hikers looking for something to fill an afternoon. If you are out of shape or not experienced this one may be a little difficult.

if you use the trail to the west of the parking lot and head north.. there will be the south bound trail marked with an orange tube on the ground. the trail does pass over rock sections and roads so it is sometimes hard to see where the trail resumes..just look forward about 5 - 10 yards and you should be able to figure it out. it is probably 60 - 40 packed dirt to rock if you want to know which shoes to use. shoes with rock plates would be recommended. not much elevation change but there are a couple of steeper sections. very runnable though.

It was enjoyable once we figured out where the trail was.

The area was littered with trash, the trail was poorly marked, and parks department dumped old concrete BBQs and other garbage along the trail. A couple of decent views, but nothing to go out of your way for.
