Mountain biking this on an overcast November day. There was one biker and a family hiking when I got there. An hour later, I was the only one left. Gotta love football season! Looks like they're trying to re-route parts of the trail, especially thru the fields, which is a bit hard to keep track of, but not too bad. There are a few places with tight ruts, but nothing worse than any other DORBA trails in the area. Overall a pretty easy trail with a few tight squeezes and abundant roots. Got here from McKinney in about 20 minutes.
Safari Trail has a few shut downs within so we added the Dog Loop for a grand total of 3.1 miles in one hour. Enjoyable...wear bug spray! Watch out for the dog lady who has approximately 20 charging dogs. They're friendly and will eventually leave you alone. The lady is one of the volunteers who helps maintain the trails! Eventually the puppies
Had a great hike with my 11 and 8 year old sons. Good trails for kids and adults to enjoy. Only issue we had was a woman had 18-20 (not exaggerating) unleashed dogs that semi-attacked us. Scratched and jumped at us. No bites, but it got out of control. Took a good 3 to 4 minutes for her to get her dogs of off my children and me. Two came back ten minutes later on the trail. Kids are very hesitant to hike now.
Hello from your DORBA trail steward. Y'all quit crying about "ruts" and come ride this trail. lol. We've been busting our grass on trail work this year. Come get some! Connect on DORBA org . If you can, join our trail work efforts for repairs and maintenance.
Kavan H. on Sister Grove Park Trail
I rate this trail low because we we made the drive up from Dallas from the review and took a chance since there were no good pics. The trail mostly a rut that is 8 to 12 inch wide and 6 to 12 inch deep very hard to pedal without pedals hitting side. I ride a 29er and still hit. My daughter 9 years old it was un-rideable. She is no pro but can burn up Harry Moss and Horseshoe trails. The sister grove loop was ok and the lake loop was all rut. Lovely place what a shame oh well we try another trail next week
