Did the trail last month! It was amazing scenery all the way.

We weren’t able to go. The road is currently closed

Fantastic hike if you are looking for an afternoon or morning hike in Big Bend. There is an excellent view just a mile up or so at a saddle if you are in a big hurry, but the view from the top is even better. The hike starts with a light to moderate incline through pinyon pine forest before climbing some steeper switchbacks towards the end. In early March, temperatures were in the mid 70s with low humidity. It can get breezy since you are in a mountain gap however, so be prepared.

My awesome 9yo son John said “it was pretty cool”.

This is our first time to Big Bend. The views from the Window Trail were amazing! Had to deal with a little flooding, not a biggie tho. Overall great experience. .

Great way to unwind after a full day of hiking. Didn't really see the loop and just took it as an out and back trail to the hot spring. Some historical buildings along the way and pictographs as well. The trail we took to the hot spring was very muddy most of the way due to recent rain so consider than with your footwear. The unpaved road to get there is narrow and very bumpy at times. Not sure if a sedan would cut it but maybe if youre careful with the potholes. Nobody was there at 6pm when we arrived on labor day so that was perfect for relaxing.

Quick walk that gives you a taste of what the longer hikes have to offer. Nice views of the window but better ones can be had if you opt for a more difficult hike or possibly the patio of the restaurant.

Great hike with views from in the basin up towards the walls of the surrounding peaks. Spotted lots of wildlife on this trail including roadrunners, rattlesnake, and a bear. Another hiker said they spotted a golden eagle and I could hear something above but never saw it. Started from the bottom of the campground so that took some mileage off and the change in elevation is spread out over the whole hike so it never seems too tough. GPS has distance at 4.9 miles and took just over 1 hour each way.

Fantastic hike through the forested north side of casa grande. The guide said you only need to hike about a mile to get one of the best views in the park and I couldnt agree more. Ended up going all the way to the top and enjoyed the rest of the hike but the views didnt get much better since some rain showers and fog made visibility drop considerably. Took about 3 hours round trip. 2 hours up and 1 hour to come down. My GPS showed the distance as 5 miles total

We hikes this trail last weekend and loved the amazing waterfall view. There was a large rainstorm the night before and a local said it was the waterfall was the fullest he had ever seen in twenty years. That being said, I can’t speak for this trail on an average day but I can imagine any water in the desert would be well worth it. Also, the road is permanently closed so you can expect to hike closer to 5-6 miles rather than three

It was awesome! Loved this trail.

Easy hike. Great views of 1500 ft cliffs.

Pretty easy hike, take water. Nice walk along the river.

Take lots of water. Full sun exposure almost all the way and back. Views of aoudad sheep and rattle snakes. Hot springs at end of the trail. Great hike!

Great hike. Not too difficult. Bears reported but we didn’t see any.

The end of the trail is a dramatic View! Just beautiful. Didn’t see any bears

Ok. Didn’t make the last 50 feet. For rock climbing, brave souls, the last 50 feet is probably worth it! But for safety minded folks, we chose to stop just short of peek. Worth the climb!

Completed this trail in August 2018. It was our 1st time in Big Bend and the 1st hike we completed in the park. We began at 5pm and it took a couple of hours to complete. Afternoon clouds helped with the August heat and made it bearable. The gorgeous views begin as soon as you start the trail and never stop. We received word of a Mountain Lion at the top, but we continued on and never saw it. A beautiful hike! Must do when in BBNP!

Loved this hike! Great steady hike up the mountain with plenty of shade. I hiked in early am so the first three quarters of the hike was in the shade with the mountains blocking the sun. Once I got past the bear canisters, majority was in the sun and the trail got a lot rockier. I was a little freaked out by all the warnings about the 25 ft scramble at the top from other reviews here on AllTrails...WAY over hyped. Not that challenging or intimidating and afforded breathtaking views. I can easily see why this is the top rated trail in the park...it’s awesome!

spectacular off-road journey, you'll find yourself once you lose yourself....

great new addition. amazing geological history adding layers of fun and new understanding to revisited sights.

what a beautiful trail. longer than usual as the gate from Ross Maxwell scenic drive was closed. rest in the lush green Oasis prior to the final hike up to the falls was sublime. caught sight of a golden eagle soaring in the warm air uplift in the cliffs. kids 7 and 9 enjoyed every step. quiet trail when the gate is closed.

Not so much a hiking trail, more of a siteseeing stop, but worth the stop and short walk. Couple ruins you can go in at the beginning and one closed off part way down the trail. Visited in June so stopped here in the middle of the day when needing a break from longer hikes. Good photo ops.

Our favorite short hike in BBNP. Everyone warns of drive there but we come up Old Ore from the south headed north in small SUV and have never had issues getting to trail head. Color and rock formations are amazing. Did the hike 12 years ago with a baby in my backpack carrier, a 5 year old and 6 year old. Did it again several times since, Easy hike and well worth it. Most people stop at the tinaja but with a little bouldering you can go pretty far further. Watch hand placement as always, we did see a gorgeous blacktail rattlesnake on the cliffs while night hiking here. Make sure to stop at Juan's gravesite on the drive in to pay respects. Just north past the trailhead on Old Ore you can follow a dry creek to a small cemetery with about a dozen gravesites not marked on many maps.

A fun hike that's deceptively longer than it appears. Bring water. The old saying is 'One hour there, three hours back', and it's sort of true, especially with kids. Last time I was there, there was a good deal of bear activity, so consider spray. There are other trails uphill of the Window that encircle the Basin, so the Window can become a great place to stop, take a break, and enjoy the breeze before continuing on.

Overall about a 3-hour hike. Loved the views, sounds, and cactuses along the way. It’s a bit steep, more towards the end. The top view is totally worth it! Be sure to get there early to get a parking spot.

Great hike with beautiful views every step of the way! We started out around 8am on a July day and had a nice breeze and plenty of shaded spots throughout our hike.

Great trail to start off Big Bend with for me, nice and easy climb to the summit, great views from the top, I did hike in middle of July with about a 4:30pm start in 98 degree heat, only drank 2 liters of water. Hike was fairly quick but I did spend a lot of time up top with my GoPro. Definitely recommend this for even the beginner hiker.

Steep at times, this is a nice trail with some great views towards the end. People afraid of heights will be ok, they just might not want to stand to close to the edges. Lots of switchbacks, but nothing too serious. Small parking lot, so get there early to get a spot and avoid the crowds. We passed tons of people on our way down.
