Beautiful trail and scenery. Lots of spiderwebs if you get hungry, and bats in boxes. I was the only person there, yet I felt like I was being followed..oh well

Not much traffic which was nice. Nice loops and view.

Nice easy hike, would be good for families. A little elevation gain in the beginning makes for good views, and some beautiful wildflowers. Check out the Creek Trail, pond, old schoolhouse, and the bay boxes, too!

Fairly easy hike with a mix of open meadows and covered areas. Some nice panoramas, not the most dramatic Hill Country vistas, but plenty of wildflowers, butterflies, and birds make this trail worth it. Trail was fairly secluded during my hike which was nice!

Nice short hike with multiple cut-ins to the water. Great for families and there’s some shade for a picnic.

beautiful perfect for family hiking

I was going to give this a four star rating because on the way up there I walked through a spiderweb and that really bummed me out... but on the way back down I saw a lot of butterflies and it made my day a little better. Solid trail... nothing crazy... a nice little trip in my book.

Great hike with beautiful views! Can add distance doing other trails at the top. Bring water, some shade but this trail pretty open to the sun. One thing, this area specifically says “No Pets Allowed” at entrance because it’s a national wildlife refuge. Came across 3 different peeps with dogs today, they were responsible with their dogs and didn’t see any poops along the trail but PLEASE leave your fur friends at home for this one. I love my dogs as much (maybe more) than anybody but they stay home for this hike ( probably why I don’t hike here more often) but regardless, please be respectful of the rules.

Nice flowers. Pleasant creek with some tiny waterfalls. Large hills for Central Texas. Quiet.

Perfect easy family hike with our toddler. Mostly flat, even terrain. Really enjoyed the stretch paralleling the creek. There are numbered interpretive posts along the way, explanatory pamphlet at trailhead.

Great trail with challenging segments, but definitely doable in running shoes. I’ll admit that I didn’t partake in the interpretive trail elements, but I still loved the hike nonetheless.

Great trail, beautiful vistas. My hubby got some wonderful shots of the blue skies, canyonlands and flowers & insects. We did get almost "lost" at one point and ended up hiking over 5 miles rather than 3.6. There are no signs along the trails, only at intersections. It was fine, however, we were able to make our way back quickly!

Beautiful trail, include not too difficult. Definitely take the creek trail too, it's a beautiful creek, such stunning color and lots of little waterfalls.

Fuuun! Took a minute to see some decent views. But when I found ‘em it was amazing. Nice little half-ish day get away.

Very cool scenes and nice walk with good climbs and great views all around....very quiet and peaceful

Very challenging and fun. We did this one with our 12 year old while wearing our 10 month old. It was incredibly steep so we had to take turns wearing the baby. Definitely have to be careful on some of the terrain but the hike and view are worth it!

Nice walk in upland woodlands with great panoramic views of the Colorado and Pedernales rivers and surrounding limestone hills of oak and cedar. Best at late afternoon as the orange sun casts warm shadows highlighting distant topography.

Good trail but I would rate it as moderate instead of easy. The elevation changes aren't treacherous but the trail is rocky and if there is ANY moisture, quite slick. But overall, it was a nice hike. We did 3.3 miles and it look 1 hr 45 mins.

A nice, quick hike. It was pretty quiet when I arrived; I only saw a couple of other people. It had rained the morning I went out, and stretches of the trail were submerged or very muddy. Gorgeous views at the top; the only sounds out there are the streams nearby and the birds.

Just challenging enough to tire my four and two year old out.

very nice view, it is clearly marked. it has a nice warm up elevation for kids.

This is just a flat out great hike. Beautiful views, some nice incline. A great hill country hike. Make sure to take the creek trail section of the trails as well (only .6 miles long). It's the best looking creek I've ever seen and arguably the best part of the hike. Hiked in late December, 2018.

Beautiful scenery went during the summer heat. they say being gallon of water per person and they have water stations throughout the trail. If you're going during the summer take couple gallons. Worth the hike.

My favorite trail around the area. Not very long, but always quiet and peaceful. There is are some nice narrow trails through trees, and also wide open fields with amazing views. Free to hike too- enjoy!

Great trail with a little of everything.

This place is gorgeous. Some of the trails get overgrown a bit, but none of them are too tough. Several trails cross the water. So, if it’s been raining, expect to get wet. Will definitely be heading back.

Great trail with plenty of shady areas! Family friendly even my 69 year old mom who sits behind a desk all day felt good afterwards. The elevations are an easy ascent. We will definitely go back!
