The park offers camping, hiking, nature study, swimming (summer), picnicking, fishing in Buffalo Wallow Pond in the park and nearby Lake Abilene, and biking and walking on park roads.

Nice little walk, kids got to see lots of interesting things.

Decent and mild trails. Nothing overly exciting. The lake trail is shown on the State Park app and website. Not too bad but there is very limited shade. And if you start too early the gate is locked and you must park place along the main road. And...horseflies!
The trails inside the park proper are....quick little paths. Great for stretching your legs if you camp here.

We went hiking around lake abilene. It was a good little stretch with visible trails the whole way. However hardly any shade at all. Luckily we found a shade half way through so we could enjoy some lunch. Took us about 2.5 hours to get through it.
