Went on a rainy day. Some mud and slippery rocks on the way up to the fort.
Levels off once you reach the top where the fort was located.
Wildlife activity: groundhog, rabbit, Turkey, squirrel, and even a snake in the creek bed.

Somewhat confusing to which way the trail was supposed to up towards the Fort. It appears that there was a bridge that was supposed to cross the river that fell, and other trails up top are closed due to erosion?

This trail is part of Pinkerton Park.
The climb isn’t easy, but the rest of the trail is. Great view of Franklin and some historical landmarks along the way.

This is a very easy trail. It’s paved and there are a few options to go ‘off trail’ where you can explore some grassy trails and historical plaques talking about a Civil War battle. I wouldn’t call this ‘hiking’, but it’s a nice park!

I wouldn't call this trail EASY, steep climb up boulders that are stair-like, but challenging for little people (5yo) It was such a blast tho, he felt like a little adventure braving the wild. the actual Fort look out has beautiful views. Pretty decent. We'd definitely do it again.

This trail is part of Pinkerton Park and takes you to the top of a overlook hill facing picturesque downtown Franklin. Hike is short and heavy pedestrian traffic since they cleared the trail even more the past year. Fun, small hike for families and kids as the overlook includes Civil War facts about Fort Granger.
There is a paved walking trail around the Park and the Fort Granger trail starts at the back of the park. Look for the well beaten dirt path that crosses the creek.

My kids had a blast with the trail around the perimeter of the old Fort Granger. Even learned a few things on a beautiful April day.

Nice park. It is easy paved path with exercise stations. Also has an earthen works Fort Granger it is an uphill climb. They are working on making stairs to get up to the Fort. On one of our walks in park we spotted an albino squirrel!

It is pretty and an easy trail. If you have trouble climbing it may not be easy for you to get to the top...it is also VERY BUSY on a beautiful day. So if a peaceful, quiet walk is what you are searching for I'd save this one for another time (:

It's a easy walk but very crowed and lots of children running around, as this is a active park for families. So if that's what you are looking for then you will love it.
