One of my favorite places to hike in MS. There is a pea gravel trail that is nice and wide. Lots of hills so it’s a little tiring but not bad. There are horse/bike trails that go into the woods as well. Very pretty especially in the fall...beware of ticks in the spring!

The trail at Bonita Lakes, Meridian MS is one of the most beautiful trials I’ve ever been to in the southeastern USA. Great for power walks

Low difficulty but nice length and scenery

this trail is overly easy. a 5 year old girl scout troop could enjoy doing this. so if you complain about this trail or its condition, go to a city park where there are paved easy trails. I run this trail and can keep a quick pace even when wet, but perhaps I'm used to running on uneven ground and loose rock. Either way, it's not difficult

Probably a better hike in the winter time...summer hiking proved to be very difficult with overgrowth and the accompanying tick infestation. Hiked from the 1812 monument to Garrison Creek and decided to walk the road back rather than pick more ticks off of me and my dog.

Nice paved trail, good trail to get your exercise on, shaded in parts and nice scenery.

love this app. I travel often just to visit trails and this app makes it easy.

Loved the history on this mostly shaded trail. Enjoyed this, even with the heat and humidity.

Do not do the Garrison loop trail that passes back over the Trace. It is an absolute nightmare as it is overgrown and not maintained at all. Be prepared to wade thru the creek thigh deep to get out of there. Best to back track on the horse trail back to the parking lot. More of a place for cyclists to park to begin their ride.

This is a great hike! It is paved and is mostly tree cover. Almost no elevation and there were only a few people. I walked to the reservoir which is very pretty. People were friendly!

Loop? Not really. Tangled up with a horse trail that leaves you 2kil from your car. Ankle breaking loose stones the size of softballs. Muddy track very very poorly marked.

Me and my family went hiking and we went in the wooded trail. Found the trail that led to the lookout point which is a 1.5 mile hike from the main trail. Lots of ups and downs on hills. Very beautiful and nice. There are easier trails but the one we went on was medium and good even for all levels. Really enjoyed this hike and will probably go back since it is close to home and interesting. Lots of ducks, birds, squirrels were seen around the lakes and in the woods. Picnic tables located throughout the area.

I started at the Hwy 43 parking lot and walked south 3.5 miles. The first 2 miles (to pipeline) is well maintained. The trail past that point isn’t maintained as well but still easy to follow.

This trail is beautiful and well maintained. My husband and I completed it in about 2 hours with our 8 month old border collie. The trail is dog friendly, but the track is not...the difference in the two was a little confusing at first if you are not familiar with this area. Our only complaint was the lack of markers directing hikers to the next section of trail after a short walk on a paved road. Now that we know the route, we will definitely be back!

Love the Trace. No 18 wheelers allowed. Lots of stops to see historical sites. Officially it takes about 5 days to drive the Trace if you stop and see everything along the way from Natchez, MS to Nashville,TN

Dark when I rode and there appears to be many trails cross crossing. Maybe that was Bigfoot’s trail I was following.
Minor elevation changes with a few jumps. A small pump section Would definitely return during the day....
Nighttime is dangerous.

Pretty cool spots to find once you get off the main trail

It is a nice walk, but the trails are not maintained very well.

Nice casual trail. With fall the trail gets hidden in places from the leaves but not impossible to follow. Some muddy places but you can get around them

Beautiful fall hike. Trail is well maintained with lots of up and down hills. We saw some deer. We don't have very many up and down hill hikes in south Mississippi. This was a great afternoon hike.

This is a horse and hiking trail. Hiked south from Hwy 43 trailhead 3.5 miles and back. Trail is pretty well marked but overgrowth makes it narrow in places. Suggest wearing pants to keep dust, grass and briars off your legs.

My sister and I visited the lake on a day trip and ate a late lunch there. I wish I had more time to explore on the trails. It's a very peaceful place. I hope to visit again in November.

Decent hike. Lots of good inclines. Narrow rocky trails. It was harder for us bc we had our old lady dog with us

Great place to hike. Very well maintained. Clear trail markers. Lots of hills. Bugs were not too bad but bring bug spray.
We walked the horse trails about half the time which were more challenging and allowed for a different view of the area.

I absolutely loved this Trail. I did find the trail to be slightly tiring in places but the beauty of the trail is magnificent. I will be hiking this trail many more times.

I was disappointed in this trail, after the first crossover (we managed to stay dry) there were tall weeds and poison ivy. We turned back and then drove south to Jackson Falls which is a real jewel.
