Very easy and peaceful walk around a beautiful still lake

Beautiful paved trail around the lake. Path is pretty even and good for people of all ages.

This trail is intended, and labeled, for mountain biking. Of all the many hiking trails in the park this is the only one allowing bikes. If for some reason you feel the need to walk on this designated mountain bike trail please watch out for bikers, or simply use the other trails designated for foot traffic only.

Trail is paved around the area and well maintained. Benches at regular intervals and small observation docks in several spots. Restrooms and vending at the trailhead. Ample parking. A sign stated that it would take an hour to walk the distance but it took me 40 minutes at a reasonable rate with a few stops for pictures. Even walking alone, I felt safe due to the number of people that were present. They do have rangers and do enforce the times posted for closure. I left at approximately 4:30 on the Sunday of the time change and an officer was closing off the entry gate as I was going out. You can get cellular service all around the trail although why you would want to spoil the walk that way is beyond me. Numerous squirrels active while I was there. Didn’t see anything else but there were many screaming children on the trail so if any had been present, they had probably left.

Really beautiful on Fall afternoons.

Really good and peaceful for a quick, sunset walk.

With the lack of rain it was really dry. The drought has taken it’s toll on everything. Still a fun trail.

Second time doing this trail. Wouldn't have done it again, but my lady had never done it. This trail is more for running than hiking IMHO. It is my least favorite trail of all because it is bland and featureless and should only be hiked in pairs with one person parking at each end to avoid having to walk it back. I really feel like this trail is just there to use the space between the two park areas. I ran into multiple walkers who were headed back to my starting point because they figured out it was a waste of time. The worst part of this trail existing is that it is the last trail on the 26+ mile mega hike and you end up doing it in the dark with nothing for entertainment but your own exhaustion.

We did see a lot of deer and turkeys. A very quaint trail. Lots of green tunnel. Even after a lot of rain recently it was not too muddy at all. Just wet.

Decent trail, flat. Easy, not great view of the lake. Volunteer trail is better.

Easy to navigate. Long and flat with many views of the lake and cedar glades. Several deer and rabbit sightings

Pretty easy, just be prepared if you go in the middle of summer on a sunny day, bring plenty of water and snacks if you need them.

Great family trail! Paved and perfect for strollers and little ones. Beautiful views and many docks to look out on the water as you walk.

peaceful walk around the lake. re commend this trail to hikers. Very little traffic on holiday weekend :)

easy, beautiful nature walk with nice little piers to get views of the lake. My wife and I ran into a whole family of deer! Not very busy, quiet, no trash (found 1 pringles can that we took and recycled). It's a great place to enjoy some quiet time with family and nature.

Super easy paved trail. Great for families. Short enough distance that young kids can enjoy, plenty of off-shoots to small piers to enjoy views lakeside. Early morning will likely earn you some good wildlife spotting.

So flat. And so many spider webs - but no street noise - yay! And the Cedar Glade is really beautiful. A few deer along the way too. And nice views of the lake. Out and back makes for a long stroll if you need to put in some miles. Love Long Hunter SP!

Fun for kids but watch for bikers

Very nice walk. It is paved so it’s hard to call it a hike. It had very beautiful scenery and is relaxing. I would come back for sure.

Lovely flat natural surface trail. Nice views of the lake, many wildflowers in bloom. Moderately shady for a July hike with occasional openings into a sunny cedar glade like area, then back to the shade. Peaceful. saw deer, a raccoon, birds and butterflies too.

Great walk

Solid hike but some of the direction on the path are unclear or hard to notice. Also, Alltrails doesn't show the return train on their map

Clean, paved path around Couchville Lake. No elevation made for an easy walk this morning. Saw a lot of animals including turtles and deer. Looking forward to coming back to this one!
