Underwhelming. Never far from the road & there was construction going on. Would have been two stars except for the elk.

Nice easy walk through the woods and beautiful creek. Remnants of at least two homes. Concrete side walk. Look for the bear paw prints in the concrete near the creek.

Basically a woodsy walk, but one of only two trails in the park that allows dogs. Mostly shaded.

A bit busy but perhaps it was because it was Labor day weekend. Really enjoyed the walk. We got there in the morning so we saw elk, even got a video of a bull crossing the river half way across he stopped and bugled. Wow! Found a nice area for our lab to swim along the trail, near an overpass. the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the number of people on the trail. So the stars represent our experience not anything negative about the trail or perhaps better stated "walking path."

Always an enjoyable stroll in the forest along a beautiful river.

Did this early April. Nice, easy. beautiful and it's now views of city landscapes and distant mountains. Picnic area was closed when we were there. I understand it's now opened.

Not one of my favorite trails! It's a nice walk in the woods! You can hear traffic for most of the hike. The trail crosses over the road, I am glad I read the reviews on here because it's not marked for the cross over.

Very short trail. Small little waterfall, lots of mushrooms around. Overall cute little quick stop. Would be excellent for small children

Nice easy walking trail with easy access to the river

Definitely not 0.9 miles... it’s only 1/2 mile so it’s not a long walk at all! Extremely easy to get to, plenty of shade, and even some awesome rocks to climb and chill on with great views. The tower is amazing with spectacular views! Great spots for hanging eno’s as well. I definitely recommend for anyone!

Nice short little trail. Very easy.

There is an even shorter way to get to the falls. You can park your car by the ranger station and the trail will be across the bridge on your left. It's a 0.1 mile walk to the falls and its beautiful. if you're pressed for time or simply not a hiker, but want to see a great waterfall this is the one for you. It was drizzling when we went and there was no one else there.

Nice and very easy trail, I was accompanied by my dog. I crossed path with a couple of elks

Only hiked about .8 miles of this trail due to our dogs being too tired after hiking Mingo Falls. Very well maintained, flat trail. No elk or bear were spotted by us today, though we did see several turkeys alongside the road as we left the parking lot. I will be back to hike the entire trail sometime.

Very short hike. Busy with lots of hikers and families. Good for children or those who aren’t very mobile.

More of a walking trail then a hiking trail. One of the few places in Smokey that is dog friendly. My 13 yr old rat terrier loved it. Lots of things for her to smell. Nice to stroll and watch the tubers on the river. I enjoyed it very much

Worth the trip

NOT paved, access are your own risk.

This trail was well shaded and very flat. Good place for an afternoon walk along the river. No bugs, and unfortunately I did not encounter any elk.

This was a great beginners trail for me and my 2 dogs. It’s 1 of 2 dog friendly trails in the National Park. The other one is on the other side of the park in Tennessee. This trail had lots of shade and few small hills, but nothing crazy. We were lucky enough to see 7 elk in the river within the first 15 min of the hike and then again on our way back. We also saw turkeys! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an easy stroll through nature. We went on a weekday as well, so it wasn’t too busy.

Easy, beautiful, dog friendly, and lots of Elk! I took the kids and our 3 dog's on this trail. We absolutely loved it. Got lucky enough to get video and pictures of the elk! 2 on the ride in and 6 on the way back out. It was very easy to walk, had lots of interesting spots throughout with neat stories from the Cherokees. We continued a little further on and ended up at this quiet little shopping center called the Tepee Village Mall. Lots of unique items for sell..I was secretly Glad I had chosen to leave most of my funds home, but still managed to come away with a few things. Definitely be back! ... to the trail! lol

Great trail! Fairly easy but has a good incline. We took our off road stroller up half way and turned around due to the rockiness of the climb. I would definitely do this hike again when kids are a bit older
