Great drive. Fun for the whole family.

Underwhelming. Never far from the road & there was construction going on. Would have been two stars except for the elk.

We do this drive a few times a year. Its a beautiful drive and if you enjoy the historic side of it, I suggest you get the little booklet that tells all about the buildings you will see and the history behind them. The only thing I will complain about is the tourists not respecting the wildlife, the historic buildings, or respecting other people who are also there for viewing pleasures. It clearly states to keep back 50 yards from any wildlife encounter, yet people are right up on them with their phones. That alone is a federal offense. Yes, they are beautiful majestic animals, but give them their space. We are in their territory and they deserve to have their privacy. There are pull offs everywhere for you to stop and enjoy without hindering anyone, but again we have people who stop their cars in the middle of the road and take pictures. So a nice drive turns into almost 4 hours of just trying to get through the drive. There is graffiti all over the buildings of tourists carving their names everywhere. If you are a tourist and you're reading this, please please respect the wildlife and don't draw on the buildings. And please try your best to use the pull offs for your viewing pleasures.

Nice easy walk through the woods and beautiful creek. Remnants of at least two homes. Concrete side walk. Look for the bear paw prints in the concrete near the creek.

Basically a woodsy walk, but one of only two trails in the park that allows dogs. Mostly shaded.

drive or bike through. take a lunch and spend the whole day reading the book and looking at the history.

A bit busy but perhaps it was because it was Labor day weekend. Really enjoyed the walk. We got there in the morning so we saw elk, even got a video of a bull crossing the river half way across he stopped and bugled. Wow! Found a nice area for our lab to swim along the trail, near an overpass. the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the number of people on the trail. So the stars represent our experience not anything negative about the trail or perhaps better stated "walking path."

Always an enjoyable stroll in the forest along a beautiful river.

Just a lovely drive early in the morning around 10am. I focused on the mountains and the sky when going through the loop but wanted to take it again for the wildflowers. The second time around was so busy! Barely drove 10 mph and it was before 12pm.

Why list this drive on a hiking trail sight? Listing it as Easy is misleading because it implies that any walk is easy & that’s not quite accurate. Visitors should be warned that the hike from the parking lot to the observation tower on Clingmans Dome is taxing & difficult for some unseasoned hikers. All paved, unshaded, and all up hill! I’ve done it 3 times & it gets more challenging each time. I would rate the hike as moderate. Also, if the fog is passing through the mountains the visibility at the top might be totally obstructed.

Did this early April. Nice, easy. beautiful and it's now views of city landscapes and distant mountains. Picnic area was closed when we were there. I understand it's now opened.

Biking this trail was much better than driving it. It’s a bit of a workout, but they restrict vehicle access before ten so it’s very very enjoyable.

Not one of my favorite trails! It's a nice walk in the woods! You can hear traffic for most of the hike. The trail crosses over the road, I am glad I read the reviews on here because it's not marked for the cross over.

The views and photo opportunities here alone make it 5 star, besides that it’s still amazing

Very short trail. Small little waterfall, lots of mushrooms around. Overall cute little quick stop. Would be excellent for small children

This trail is perfect trail for someone who wants an easy walk.

Easy, paved walkway. Perfect for a short relaxing walk.

Why is this showing up on a hiking app??!! You drove it on a road and uploaded it on here? Please stop wasting everyone’s time. This is not a driving app.

Nice dog friendly trail along the river.

Fantastic drive with gorgeous scenery - both mountain and forest. We saw wild turkey and deer, and some cars saw bears. It was car intensive and definitely takes four hours if you take in the stops and views. Beautiful and I can’t imagine how gorgeous in the Fall!

Definitely not 0.9 miles... it’s only 1/2 mile so it’s not a long walk at all! Extremely easy to get to, plenty of shade, and even some awesome rocks to climb and chill on with great views. The tower is amazing with spectacular views! Great spots for hanging eno’s as well. I definitely recommend for anyone!
