Very good trail for running. Mostly narrow
dirt trails with a nice break into about a mile of an asphalt trails.

Love the trails in the park. Well kept and beautiful.

Did the Shoal Creek trail. Incredibly pretty with multiple places that the trail opens up to the creek. Classic Middle TN creek - cold, clear water and lots of rocks and shoals to create beautiful rapids and riffles. Several feeder springs running perpendicular into creek over interesting rock formations. A few good climbs make it a decent workout if you start at the top near the museum and hike to the campground and back. The museum is pretty cool and worth stopping in after your hike. Historical David Crockett museum complete with live raptors (owls, hawks) and some neat displays with stuffed bear, deer, etc. Very interesting historical displays about frontier life and Crockett's political history.

All this is, is a road and if you find another trail it is only asphalt the whole way. It is NOT hiking.

Hiked the Shoals Creek trail to Crockett Falls. Beautiful scenery but be prepared for hell hill, right before the falls.. on the way out of the park we saw 30 + deer grazing in the fields, absolutely breathtaking!

Nice trail inside the Park.

A great trail system on land Davy Crockett had some businesses. I have hiked and camped here since I was very young.

The park itself was enjoyable and had plenty of activities/areas for children to enjoy. The tent camping areas are very tight and mostly on gravel. I would return but instead I would look for a different location to pitch the tent.

A very pleasant surprise at the end of a short little trail.

Shoal Creek Trail in Davy Crockett State Park is one of my favorite trails of all time. Moderate hike of a little over a mile along Shoal Creek. Starts in the back of Campground 1 and ends at the back of the park at the falls. Several other trails branch off or connect to this trail to make for a great short hike or an all day one.

Nice little trail. The waterfall at the end is well worth the trip. Close enough to other trails in the park to combine and make a great hike.

Great Trail!

We have spent many days hiking at Crockett state park. There are a good selection of trails with many levels of Ease to choose from. There are lots of deer, turkeys, and geese to be seen and the staff and rangers have been terrific. A great place to spend a day or two.

We spent the 4th of July weekend at David Crockett State Park. We had a very nice time. We took our travel trailer. The park is beautiful. We enjoyed hiking and swimming. We saw wildlife on a daily basis. It would be nice if they would update the camping pads and add sewer hook-ups.
