We hiked Warriors Passage again after two years. The trail is 11 miles, which doesn’t include the 1.6 mile trek over a gravel road to the tower. Wildcat Creek is deep. We took sandals, changed into them, crossed the creek and left them on the other side. They were still there on the return trip and the cold water was wonderful! We saw a bear for the first time on a trail! He was about 25 yards from us. We looked at him and he looked at us, and no more than a minute, he turned and ran into the woods. The trail is really overgrown— lots of scratches. At about mile 3, it looks like a tree has fallen over the trail, and it has, only the trail is a switchback , so you should go to the right uphill to detour and the trail picks up again. It’s tough, the last mile and a half is hard. 872’ in .4 mile, and the total elevation is 2500’. The “burn bald” is pretty hard to navigate, but the trail is there. Altogether, the trail is clearly blazed with three white blazes, two small and a larger center rectangle.
