very beautiful place, with creek and waterfall.

Nice hiking trail with some hills, part of it along the creek. We clocked it at 2.4 miles from the parking lot.

dude i hiked to the fountain and passed it to finish the trail that led to absolutely nothing but poison ivey and poison oak !! don’t keep walking stop at the river 10/10 would do it again

longer trail, 4.8 up but it is a constant gentle climb. Have seen many rattlers up there the last 2 years so use caution if you have dogs

Well maintained trail. The views at the fire tower are breathtaking. This trail in my opinion is easy. I would rate it moderate only because of the mileage.

Absolutely love this hike! I drive nearly an hour when I want to hike just so I can come to Gee Creek Trail. The small waterfalls are absolutely breathtaking, plus I’ve seen kids swimming under the one at the end of it. There are two rocky parts that are difficult to cross if you’re new to it or just don’t like that kind of thing, but once you get the hang of it it’s not bad. I’d recommend going after a light rain (if you’re used to the trail!) for a really lovely addition of small streams along the trail.

Some places on the trail can be hard to navigate if you go past the waterfall. But overall it’s a beautiful hike.

Very good trail to spend an hour or two in nature with the family or all day covering the loops.

Fun overnight hike but could be done in a day.

Great photo ops here! The trail up to the main falls gets narrow at one point, but manageable. Can't wait to go back.

Creek was way up and raging we felt it was to dangerous to cross so we only got to hike half of the trail. The trail follows the creek at one point it was a little difficult to navigate / climb the rocks.. I will try agin later in the year after the creek drops. And yes like the other reviews there are a lot of baseball size rocks on the trail but we didn’t find them that hard to hike.

My 6 year old's first big hike! definitely a few troublesome spots where the terrain is very narrow and rocky. The path overall is rocky, but not bad. The water was beautiful!

Love this trail! We like climbing over all the rocks but it’s nice to have the option of walking the flat trail to the left. A great trail for all levels!

beautiful trail easy to follow but not for children or the faint of heart. trail was completely empty the path was very Rocky but it was really very pretty. many small waterfalls.

Well maintained trail. Lengthy but the climb is gradual, so it isn't too difficult. Views are great if you are willing to climb to the observation deck. It is nice, large deck. Had my lunch there.

awesome trail, great to get the heart rate up.

My daughter and I had a good hike but getting to the trail was a little tricky but a fun challenge crossing the creek several times. It was cold, the creek was partially frozen so it was beautiful to see the waterfalls half frozen but still flowing. We noticed a lot of random old fire pits like some people have been living there. There was a old tent and sleeping bag rolled up and we could not tell if someone was bundled up under it or if it had been abandoned. That made me a little uneasy on the trail with just me and my daughter. Then about a mile up the trail I am pretty sure we heard a bear growl across the creek up the mountain, far enough away but close enough to where we turned around and hightailed it back to the car.

Great trail for exercise!! I'd pick this trail any day over a treadmill.

The trail is much longer then 2.2 miles, it was a logging road, very easy at first and gets a little more difficult further back. There are multiple roads/trails past the clearing on both sides of Goforth creek. Made it back a good ways (didn’t start tracking till well past the cleaning) on the main trail on left side of the creek before the undergrowth became too thick to continue any further on a day hike. Could be hiked all the way to Lost Creek if there were better maps available.

The trail up to the AT shelter was approximately 4 miles. Our group was three relatively fit adults (20-23), but adult life has taken its toll it seems because it was one of the more grueling hikes we've done in recent memory. Another nearby hike we do regularly is Margarette Falls, but I'd question classifying that as an intermediate trail, whereas I'd rate this one more like intermediate+ to the low-end of difficult.

It was rocky in the beginning segments, and after the first bridge crossing its relatively leisurely, but after the 2nd or 3rd bridge it's straight uphill the rest of the way. At least 2 miles are straight up the side of the mountain. It's beautiful, for sure, even now in the early part of winter.

If you're an experienced hiker, or confident in your level of fitness I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's a fun and pretty trail with variable terrain and isn't *very* heavily traveled, but there were some nice older ladies who put us to shame when we went. We felt like we were dying on the final leg up to the shelter.

I guarantee I will be very sore tomorrow.

Nice exciting trail. Nice deep hole to swim in under big waterfall. There are rainbow trout in the creek also.

I have hiked this trail several times and always enjoy it. Best time to hike it is summer or fall when it is dry out otherwise the creek crossings can be challenging when the creek is flowing hard.

Loved this trail. Easy hiking but is 9 miles so still a good workout. When you get to the top the view is amazing!

Beautiful
