Nice drive. All dirt road but smooth. Any type of vehicle should be able to handle this road most of the year. The land is BLM land. Archery hunting is allowed with the appropriate licenses. The are plenty of pull off spots to stop and enjoy short walks or view wildlife. I have seen turkey and deer. There is a seasonal horse camp here that is a US Fee area. There are historical markers along the route. Fort Meade was used throughout the 1800s and into the 1900s a exploration camp, Cavalry headquarters for the war with the Native Americans, and training the US Military in the early 1900s. Today it is the sight of our area's VA Healthcare system to care for our American Veterans. Collecting of artifacts is not allowed.
