Would be better if marked better

Nice easy hike to end the day. Smooth wide pathway and some decking at the falls area for viewing. Pleasant and easy to access from the Spearfish Canyon Lodge.

Great hike. Nice views at the top. A little longer than expected due to other trails with Buzzard Trail.

Super easy hike, Great little hike, quick and easy.

Spectacular hike with amazingly lush terrain (due to the over abundance of rain) on the way to the peak.. The peak offered views of SD and Wyoming. Definitely worth the time!

Check out a few of the breweries in Spearfish as a reward!

Couldn’t figure out the trail head, it was ill maintained through the thick. Will try again later and update the review.

Loved the trail; however we were unprepared to cross 4 bridges over rushing water. Good thing we could sit and scoot across! Also easy to get lost due to no signage to guide you. Hard to know which way to go!

Me and my wife took this trail last weekend and the view is spectacular. Any age/fitness level will be able to complete this hike as there are different difficulties on it.

Super easy little walk with the kids. Nothing spectacular, but also no stress with young kiddos.

Trailhead is easily assessable and is just a few minutes outside of Rapid City. But don’t be fooled, you’ll experience an enjoyable hike and feel like you’ve been plunked down in the middle of enchanted land. I took advantage of a beautiful day and night. Decided to throw up the hammock and spend the night! Go do this!

Easy to get to. Follows an old road so it’s plenty wide if you have a large group. Great views. Never very busy. Is close to Rapid City if you need a quick outing and want to get out of town.

Nice hike and easy to get to. Short distance, but it’s a great way to stretch your legs. Dog friendly - is along a creek for most of it and there are little trail cuts down where your dog could get some water. Family friendly.

I loved this trail! Easy to find & well marked, easy to follow! There were plenty of hikers, although not crowded at all. Starts with a soft ascent & climbs steadily but comfortably through shaded Forrest trails with pretty wildflowers & great views. There were some challenges like a rocky path, some climb overs & narrowed areas but these made it fun! The view at the top was fantastic & worth every mile!!! Definitely a good one to do in this area!!

Perfect easy trail! Beautiful ending!

Easy trail for small children, but not much of parking area can only fit about 7 vehicles max. The view makes it worth it.

Good hike, trail was pretty soggy in a few spots. marvelous views, the regrowth from the fire 2 years ago is lush and the green against some of the charred trunks makes for breathtaking scenery on this hike.

We completed Crow Peak in 4 hours round trip, with some water stops along the way. It was very hot and humid, making for a very sweaty hike, but cool breezes at the top. PS. someone left their binoculars at the top...they are hanging on the summit sign. Incredible view at the top, after some steep switchbacks. I would rate moderate to patches of difficult.

waterfall was nice. walk along the stream was pleasant. Nice but not spectacular.

Hiked today 7-10, temps were high but it was windy enough to stay pleasant. Based on recommendations, we went counterclockwise and agree with the recommendation. There were quite a few ticks on the lower level but with hats and buddy checks we managed it pretty easily. We saw a herd of big horn sheep on the upper portion, they were below us on their own ledge. Very cool hike with spectacular vistas.

It’s an awesome hike, very good exercise. It is just trick to find the trail in some points. I had to use the map several times. I uploaded some pics of the tricky parts you should look for, just pay atention to them and enjoy this cool hike. :)

Did this hike for the 4th. The portion of the hike highlighted on the map was through a nice wooded area, very scenic......unfortunately that doesn’t actually take you all the way to boulder hill. If you want to get there starting at the trailhead shown here, continue following the road around to complete a “J”. The view from the summit is nothing short of spectacular! The only portion of the hike I would call “hard” would be the very end as you do have to do a bit of moderate climbing over large rocks to make your way to the top.

This was the wife's and my first hike of the year, and it was GORGEOUS. We decided to take our time and enjoy the hike, and brought our 4 year old shepherd lab mix. We made it up in an hour and thirty eight minutes, taking 3 short tests along the way. the views are amazing, and the vegetation is lush in many places. we're not extremely fit, but fairly active and we found this hike, at our leisurely pace, to be between easy and moderate. after a brief lunch at the top, we made it down in and hour and ten minutes, essentially letting our hips and gravity set the pace. The trail itself is very well maintained and easy to follow. This is a must do for a short half day hike or if you're in the area.

This is a great easy and has a great view at the end.

It was a beautiful loop hike but the 3 of us were covered with ticks when we returned to the parking lot. And we had applied spray.

I really like this hike and only give it a low rating because if the quantity of ticks. Views are beautiful from top and bottom of the canyon. Lots of wildflowers and birds and massive amounts of ticks even with bug repellent.

Not a fair review, cause we didn’t make it to the top, so no views. Hiking along in the lush forest was pretty. Lots of wildflowers. A consistent uphill hike, but not too difficult, we were worried about the weather coming in.
