It is hard. Great views. Hot and humid in summer or after rain. In the summer bring more than 1l. Of water. One of my favorite places to hike.

I've done this many times over the years. Just recently done this with a full overnight backpack on my way onto the Foothills trail. It's tough but the views are spectacular. If you want an even harder route, go back down table rock trail and take ridge trail to pinnacle mountain trail. Summit Pinnacle and follow pinnacle back to the nature center or hit the Foothills trail right past the pinnacle summit. I didn't take water initially because I had a water filter and was going to get it on the trail. I didn't find water until after I the pinnacle summit on the foothills trail. That water source is 1-1.5 miles into that trail. Alternately, you can go follow pinnacle past Bald knob and you'll see a creek but it's a few miles as well. Better to just start a long journey like this with some water.

Great trail, heavily wooded and well marked with other trails branching off. Sections were more difficult than others with lots of rocks, but many places to rest and take in the scenery. Says 4-5 hours to complete, which was accurate for casual hikers like us. Bring lots of water and prepare to shed clothing as you go, and to put it back on at the top while resting. We made the hike Nov 10th in the high 50’s low 60’s.

Great uphill climb. About 2,000 ft up. Great views!!!!

Great hike. Lots of people and dogs. Pretty steep in places, but very doable. Trail is well marked and maintained. Lots of rocks and boulders to climb over and several stream crossings. We took our time and stopped at a couple of overlooks on the way up and completed the entire out and back in about 5 hours. Will definitely do this hike again!

Great challenging hike and a well marked trail. There’s some blown down trees, but they’re large so it is easily spotted and to get around it. Took me and my small dog almost 5 hours round trip included 20-30 mins on the Bald Knob lookout. Bring waters and lunch to enjoy on the lookout. Had it all to myself so it was even more incredible. The last mile of this trail is very steep and challenging with no rewards of view at the end. I went there to see it for Myself even though plenty others have warned me :) It is a hard trail but totally worth the view at Bald Knob. Have a great hike!

Great trail following the creek. Moderate is a good rating for this trail. It does have a steep climb and then levels back with some creek crossings. Side note: take a right at the fork.

beautiful hike. pretty crowded for a hard hike. trail however is good and well maintained. good sole shoes a must given lots of stones on the way. Gradual climb with some small steep ascent along the way. 5$ per person entry fee into park. Carry cash since they dont have digital card processing. Cabin house inside park for multiple hikes during stay.

did this one clockwise and enjoyed it the ridge line trail was a good time to recharge after pinnacle

great trail with the hardest part being the summit push no views from the summit but it was still worth it

Loved the trail, a little washed out from the big rain last night. Plenty of opportunities for the pups to play in the river after ~1/2way up the trail. Destination falls were aesthetically a let down but loved the hike. Would recommend.

This is an awesome hike. Great payoffs. Great views. Some great people hiking it. It gets your heart pumping in some places. Nothing technical. For me just four hours of grinding. Keep going past governors rock. Pass the summit sign. Keep going until it essentially dead ends off the side of the earth!

very hard trail physically for the average person. but if your in shape, no prob. several small waterfalls and a nice creek at the beginning of trail head. hike then goes up and up from there! view at bald knob overlook is unbelievable! you cannot imagine being up that high! there are some downed trees and a few rock scrambles but nothing major. one huge waterfall but was almost dry due to the draught. well marked trail, but be advised, this is Not the trail that takes you to the overlook you can see from hwy. 11, and the state park! this one is completely different. we made that mistake! I seen the word "overlook" and assumed it was the main one that you see from hwy 11. it's not! but it's still awesome!

Awesome hike! Trail is steep in the beginning, but don’t be discouraged. Wear proper shoes and bring 2 waters and few energy bars to keep you going strong. Tons of steep rocks to keep the hiking fun and challenging. Totally worth the hike once you’ve reached the summit and make it to the final lookout. There’s 2 beautiful stopping lookout points that you can take small rests at and enjoy the view on the way up and down. Took me and my yorkiepoo 1:45 mins up and equal time down (which was surprising, but some of the rocks were really challenging to hike down from) Took about 4 hours round trip with rest times included. Take your time and enjoy your hike!!

We hiked this trail last weekend. We had young, 10-12 year old, kids with us and it took us almost 6 hours to finish it. We stopped a lot and had lunch as well. The trail is very popular and there were a lots of people. We hadn’t been hiking long, but this was the hardest we have done so far. Climbing for 3 hours straight up, in some places it was very steep. Of course the view was amazing and breathtaking ( literally

hard hike but the veiws help you forget the burning in your legs. If you make it to the pavilion, the next leg to the trip is steeper, but overall not as difficult as the first half of the trail. Just keep going!

We enjoyed this trail- not your average trail hike for sure as you head up to the falls near the end, but the effort is worth the payoff. We had just a few bugs on a great 80 degree fall day. We had no trouble finding the spur off the Palmetto trail- it’s well worn and runs parallel to the creek not long after you cross.

This was an amazing hike! The last mile or so is climbing up/over rocks and some large flat faced ones that have slight stairs cut into them. My husband and I moved down here from WV and was looking for a good hike with a view, this accomplished that. We started our hike at 715am, hiked the first half mile in the dark which was awesome, and we were the first ones on the trail. We made it up to Table Rock Summit within 2 hours and 2 minutes which involved stopping for a minute or two a few times to drink some water and stretch and then back at it. We never truly sat down. The way down is easier than up but still has it's complications especially the first mile down over the rocks you had to climb over going up. Highly recommend for those experienced hikers! Inexperienced hikers can still do it but maybe just stop at the halfway point or at Governor's Rock which is 2 miles or so from the Summit, from there it gets worse.
