Photos of Nantahala National Forest Trails

This trail was really nice. The directions need to be expanded upon! At .7 miles the trail has a hard to see fork (especially when you’re short and you keep your head down!). The signs are high up on a tree. Stay left toward the Iron Bridge. At around mile 3 another fork will appear. Stay right onto the County Line Trail. This trail will lead back to Whiteside Cove Rd. As mentioned in other posts, you will be on road for the remaining 2-3 miles of the loop. The trail is a walk/run. We headed out for a trail run, but the trail can be very technical and in fall extremely thick with fallen leaves making it difficult to foot strike. Beautiful views of the river though and nice bridges along with some good areas for swimming if you are so inclined!
