Pretty easy trail. There are a lot of people riding bikes here more than anything, but hiking it I can see why. Definitely great gradual elevation changes, and a great way to start out.

Took my baby out on this trail today in his child carrier pack, we had a blast! It took me about 2 hours to go the loop. There are a few rocky parts and one area where you have to step over a small wet weather stream on rocks. The beginning of the hike is nice and closed with trees and undergrowth all around, but the East part of the trail really opens up nicely.

A decent hilly hike through a forest. Some of the trail junctions can be a little confusing, but the forest service has an app you can use to track your location on the trails, and cell service was good throughout the hike. This is an actual firebreak trail, so there are burn areas throughout, and very little fauna, but it's still a pleasant forest hike.

Real nice trail. Well-marked all the way through.

Fun trail with lots of elevation changes and pretty views. We went in January so all the leaves made some of the up and downs a bit slippery, so wear shoes with good traction. The trail connects back to the Midland trail in two different spots so pay attention to your direction or your 3 mile hike will become 7 miles if you go the wrong way getting back on the midlands...go right to exit...go left to hike more.

Awesome trail not at all a flat stroll. Being able to get in the river was the best part!

Nice trail.

challenging trail to run.

love the terrain for a great workout in about an hour!

Did this trail with my little brother and friend. We didn't know where to go so we ended up walking this one, and two other trails. I would do it again.

Great introduction to the trails of Harbison State Forest. Easy parking, just be sure to have $5 in cash for the day parking permit. An annual pass is only $25 for this amazing park in Columbia, SC.

Great, and surprisingly so for being in the middle of Columbia. everything was pretty well marked and there are some really cool sights along the way. I feel that this was more moderate than hard, though.

This is real outdoors right in the city! I have done this hike with my 12, 8, 4, and infant. It isn't too hard, but is challenging enough to entertain the kids. There is also a little spot on the river to stop midpoint.

was a bit boring for me at times, would be great for beginners. recommend going counterclockwise, but it seems like the trail can be ridden both ways. nice wide trails, well maintained and marked. grab a map at one of the stands, it will help you in the long run. i feel like the trail could use some more berms and maybe a small jump going off of one on the roots.

rode part of this trail until it conected to the stewardship trail (believe that was the name). nice wide trails.

More like "Get lost trail". Hardly any trail markers combined with constant split offs and cross paths makes it easy to get lost.

nice trail easy to spot mt bikes and get off the path to let them pass through

Great trail, worked perfect for a nice family hike.

Hiked May 2017. You have to take a small side trail (well trafficked obviously by the smooth dirt and lack of vegetation growing on the path!) to get to the river access. Side trail branches off an intersection where the trail is marked with a laminated sign tacked to a tree. Loved this trail. River access was beautiful and serene. Besides the river access it is a cool trail going through the forest, some ups and downs but nothing too strenuous. Spider Woman II is actually only a 2.2 miles loop but you have to take the Midlands Mountain Trail from the parking lot to get access to the Spider Woman II trail so that is what brings the hike total to 3 miles. Would definitely recommend!

needs better signs!

Fun trail, beautiful scenery and visible markers.

great trail

Sunday, April 16, 2017

We tried to do this one in April on a Friday and the gates back to it were closed, said they are only open to the back Saturdays and Sundays so make sure you check. You can get back there but it is about a 1.5 road walk to the beginning of the trail head. We did a different one instead but will go back to do this one. We liked the area.

Easy beginner trail.

Good all around hike. Saw very few other people. A little muddy in areas and we had to cross a shallow stream at one point (it had just rained recently) but overall easy hike and well marked.

My first dedicated hike and I had a great time. I would rate this trail a little more than easy, closer to moderate.

Trail was very enjoyable. Nice and wide for the most of it. Well maintained. $5 parking fee for the park.
