Trail itself was great but parking lots were closed so we had to park on a side street and hike in via a dirt road.

Columbia’s outside trail system! Very bike friendly. Lots of side trails - very well kept. Can be busy on the weekend. 5$ parking fee. Benches throughout.

Mountain bikingGreat!

Great trail. Short and stout. The rock garden is difficult but fun to attempt. Rode up from Augusta to give these trails a try and was not disappointed. I was looking forward to the river bluff view but that will not happen until winter.

This is a great little hike. Lots of birds and deer if you’re into viewing wildlife.

Did this last weekend. Ended up being 10.8 miles. Various terrain with two river lookout points; views will be better in winter with no leaves on the trees. Had a great time but miles 9 and 10 caught up with me and were slower moving. I was able to keep a 20 minute/mile pace.

Mountain biking

This is probably the most difficult trail within the Columbia area for mountain biking. If you are relatively new to biking or are not used to riding on more technical trails then please use caution if you attempt this trail. It is full of steep inclines/declines and very sharp/rough switches. The root steps on the steep declines can drop more than a foot and the flat rocks can be very slick when wet. The trail is also relatively narrow so you have to watch for your pedals snagging on the vines as well as being careful not to fall off, the drop off the side of the trail can send you tumbling down 40+ ft. The trail offers beautiful scenery and is thriving with life. Hope this helps and have fun!!!

My son and I had a fantastic ride. Our first time. Not sure we got the whole trail. Strava measured at 8.3mi, but it was great. Lost of fun decents. Climbs were manageable. Perfect.

Started at main lot since road closed. Added bluffs and went in and out on midlands mountain and firebreak. Also added internal loop to spider woman. About 11 miles in all. Great mix of terrain. Enjoy.

Always a fan of this trail...lower part of Mid Mtn is mushy due to flooding a few weeks ago. one tip: instead of stepping in the mud or potential mud, use big twigs or logs to cross damp areas. Found them to be much more solid and not sink so much. The riverside connector between Spiderwoman and Mid Mtn has lots of debris due to the fact it was underwater a few weeks ago. Parts of this trail are not visible so be careful as there are some potential sinkholes. The block that served as a bridge across a little gulley was unseated, so the steady crossing is laying on the bank of this little gulley. Instead there is this weak piece going across. even I with my 140 lb frame was a little scared on it. Needed my pole to climb up the other side. Fun though to go through this connector seeing all the different foot prints. A lot of deer prints.

Trails were closed first thing so walked the road. They opened up soon after so hiked the trails. There’s a nice little loop up at the bluffs that is worth adding. Cut our day short as we ran out of time. Love the winter weather.
