I just did part 1 and into part 2 so I hiked 22 miles it was easy and fun actually. Water was a bit dodgy just stagnate ponds but I didn’t go past the 11 mile mark then I camped and walked back out the next day.

We went with an 11 and 7 year old plus a dog. A great easy hike for the whole family.

Great trail. Muddy

Trail is very well maintained! For being right outside of Charleston, it’s perfect to get away for the day and go hiking. The trail is fairly easy to walk - some roots and soft marsh spots. Also, love that it’s dog friendly!! We took our two dogs and had a blast. There were quite a bit of people out walking with their dogs and riding bikes, so it gets some traffic on the weekends. Definitely a hidden gem!

I’d like to give this trail a 3.5. It was a great trail and a fun adventure but it was REALLY muddy. But we still had a great time! Our dogs did too!

Went in January. Good hike, and good views of the levees/water. Didn’t see too much interesting wildlife, but good surroundings. Definitely more of an Easy hike than Moderate, but some parts of the trail can get overgrown.

Great trail along the inter coastal water way. With several outlooks to the water along the way. We had children starting at 5 and adults age 65 in our group that went and it was a perfect hike!

Nice hike.

I've walked this trail a few times and love it. Great views and had a real adrenaline pumping moment when I walked up on some gators resting on the bank. Must be lightly used. First hike no other people. Second hike saw 2 other people.

Like the previous review, very nice out and back. First time on the bikes for a while and longest on a trail to date. My wife and I rode from Buck Hall CG to the canoe launch and back. Some tough spots but we made it!

The beginning and end of this trail was easy. The mid trail was full of roots so it was more challenging than "easy". The path was scenic with great creek views and some elevation along the way. We rode during the dry season in May, so no mud. There would have been mud during wetter weather. You need mosquito spray, or to ride fast, or both. Thank you to the Boy Scouts and others who have improved this trail. It was a pleasure to enjoy your work. Very clean too. I recommend it if you are up for a bit of a rough ride!

I think it is more medium than easy but I really liked it!

Definitely 3-4 miles if you include the trails around the impoundments which you obviously should because it's the best part. Unfortunately one of the dikes is out make it impassable.

very flat, good for a run, but not a lot of variation in the scenery.

Walked this during a 100 mile section hike of the Palmetto Trail. After coming out of the swamp with the Swamp Fox Passage this was a welcome change. Take the extra spur trail and camp at the Sandy Beach Camp Site, best camping in the 100 miles we completed.

Started a section hike of the Palmetto Trail here. Trail is very flat and excellently maintained. They were doing a cross country race when we were there and they had even marked small obstructions in the trail with paint. If you like looking at salt water marshes this is the trail for you.

It was great! A little buggy but expected for July after a rain. Loved the canopy of trees, wasn't too hot. Will do it again in the fall! So peaceful and lots to look at.

Beautiful forest area that opens up to the marsh, easy loops and wide paths to follow. Saw some great wildlife. Loved it.

Flat trail, very easy to navigate. Saw some snakes and turtles, strong bird population. One crossing section of trail and road is not busy, but the trail inlet across is 50 ft feet down the road, so use caution. Very quiet trail and great to bring a dog for.

Not many hill to the lower section of it. Very isolated and not much traffic when I was there back in April. Theres quite a few small pounds dotted along side the trail as you head north. The parking lot is on the north side of the road, left hand side headed north, right hand side headed south. You must be heading south in order to access the gravel parking lot, free parking.

A nice country ride on a nice day.

Enjoyable trail. Flat of course. I enjoyed the woods and a creek here and there. One section, maybe around mile 5 was just root after root. Overall a decent trail. I live close by so will be going again

Nice basic trail. Easy location from Charleston.

This is a good trail for viewing wildlife, but some parts lose the signage and is hard to tell which way to go.
