Great trail for walking your dog!

Beautiful pond area. Easy walk. Fun for kids and dogs.

My concerns are the population of deer which leads to ticks. Be sure to use bug spray and check for ticks at home.

great spot for a quick hike with the kids. we saw deer and a snake which added to the experience

Some areas overgrown a little probably very muddy in some areas if there is any rain but my dog did really enjoy this walk.

The orange trail is really overgrown but everything is beautiful!

This place is a hidden gem in Portsmouth. It can get a bit confusing on how to get back to the parking lot. I suggest wearing pants if plants touching your skin bother you since the trails do have a lot of brush. Some part of the blue trail was barren, not sure why, but it was sad to see. But overall it was beautiful and I'll definitely be returning.

Beautiful little trail. A lot of shade if you stay on the trail that goes by the water. (The trail branches off into several small trails.) + Beautiful view of Narragansett Bay if you follow the right trail down to the water. + wild blackberries. Delicious.

There is a few trails to choose from at Melville all of which have beautiful scenery. My personal favorite was the tee pee! It was eerie to come across at first but after investigation it was pretty neat to see that out on the trail!

The trails are not long but you can combine them to get four to five miles. However, hiking here is beautiful. The trail head is incorrectly marked on the map. Off of West Main/RI 114 turn east onto Bradford Ave. The turn is right by Melville Elementary. Follow that until you pass the campground and you will see a sign for the park and turn right. There is a parking lot at the end of the road with space for about 15 cars. There are also a few picnic tables located along the trail for those who desire a picnic. If a more woodsy trail is preferred on Aquidneck island this is your best bet.

I used The Blue and Red Trails, The trail was very quiet. there was no other traffic that I saw.
The trail while short is Hiking not just walking. There were some good looking scenes that may have been better on another day. Smith Road is not marked. use the second left off Bradford
