Great forested trail for local folks to get out for a good day-hike or trail run. It’s a bit rocky but that’s just what you expect in PA. It’s moderately trafficked on the weekends. Good parking close by with a paved walk to the trail head. In addition to the trail, the covered bridge and historic houses add to the overall experience. Go up the Mt Misery trail and head back on the Valley Creek trail or vice versa for a nice ~5k loop. We take the dogs here and run the trail often.

Nice easy walk. All paved, nice views of meadows and fall foliage

While this trail was beautiful, quiet, and shaded, much if the first half of the trail was overgrown. A man hiking on the ridge called down to us that this portion of the trail was underwater for most of the summer, which explains why it was muddy and parts of the trail were missing. Once we found our way out (and being poked by lots of prickly branches), the trail was marked better and we enjoyed the rest of our hike.

I have gone on this trail since I was a little child and I still love it every time I go back.

This was actually my first hike and it was great. The trail was beautiful.

Nice, relaxing day hike. On the easier side of moderate. Super convenient to Philly.

Always hiked this on the backend of the Mt. Joy hike. This can loop you back towards the Washington Headquarters parking area. Mostly wooded, not many views off the mountain.

Great sites and challenging enough

Shady, great river views! love the variety of paths to explore here too. Be sure to check out the old Pawlings Farm house ruins, and take a walk up on the path high up in the trees for a different view if you've not tried it yet! The lower river path can flood during/after major weather, and can be muddy after rain. Bring your yucky shoes and have fun!

Well kept trail. Mount Misery did not disappoint. Was a good way to get the blood pumping. Not too crowded on a Saturday afternoon. We went clockwise and enjoyed the shade and trail. While walking along the river we heard the chapel bells and it was wonderful. Not too difficult a hike and doable for all levels.

beautiful and peaceful. map took us to a rando parking lot but just across the bridge it's obvious where you need to go.

This was a very trafficked trail, yet a little challenging and very easily navigated. I was sad to see that at such a high elevation there was no lookout, but the ruins down by the creek definitely made up for it! Parts of the trail are steep, and/or made up of rocks. So be wary if you aren’t prepared!

Completely paved route. Some shade. Good number of people.

Nice hike, not too difficult. Woods, meadow, and historical areas. Small amount of rockiness beginning and towards the end. Not too bad, I've definitely seen worse. Not too crowded Negative.. trails are not marked, we got off track several times. Thank goodness for our app to get us back on track. overall good experience, would definitely hike the area again.

No markers lots of the trail is just mown field. Not really worth unless you planned on doing the historical sites

The trail is paved the entire way and very easily marked. Spots with hills and tremendous views. The only downfall is the number of people that walk along it and their tendency to "trail spread". Quite often I had to walk on the edges or in the grass to pass people that were four and five wide.

Has a nice climb to get started and get you back into shape for longer hikes. A nice prep hike or evening hike.

Shaded and nice.

Definitely a long trail but really fun, make sure you don’t deter off onto the mountain trail if you don’t want steep hills and loose rocks. The trail itself was great and a good morning hike on a weekend.
