Some gradual climbing then down then up then down again so overall a very comfortable variety. This is not an overgrown trail and is well marked. It does cross over the AT a couple of times, we decided not to do the upper loop and just circled back down to the parking lot but with complete the entire 5 miles in the near future. I would rate it a 4.5 stars since it is so pretty but very rocky.

Easy parking. Well-blazed trails. There are a few crossing trails/options, will be back to explore more. Definitely buggy in spots, but it’s July so that’s to be expected. Fairly steep ascent/descent. Not technical, but not a walk in the park either. You could also start at Ibberson and do the same loops.

Awesome hike! No lookouts but the hiking is solid and relatively easy. Not overgrown at all which was surprising for June. Will be back here!

Great trail, some spots are a bit overgrown but that’s mostly a result of summer. Lots of parking and a few steeper climbs.

It was a great adventure, but overall very confusing. If I wouldn't have had my all trails app I would have gotten lost. It was difficult but so worth it. Also I am 4 11 and I think I'm about the smallest height that can go over the rope bridge.

First one I’ve done with my boys. We went backwards, yes the way straight up the mountain side. Heck of a workout. Just be weary of Rattle snakes on the Appalachian trail stumbled upon one along the way. Level of difficulty on this one, for myself, hard but enjoyable. Trail was marked well.

Beautiful views, a difficult ascent, some of the rock steps were a bit high for a petite hiker. Hiking poles are recommended. Converging trails with similar colors were a bit confusing, but we figured it out and emerged about 4 1/2 hours later.

Really enjoyed this trail. Didn't make it all the way but instead cut across the top half of the "8". There are a lot of intersecting trails that aren't on the this map, so that was confusing. But we winged it and it worked out. We ended up doing 5.5 miles and it took us 3 hours of pretty leisurely hiking. There are a lot of uphills but it's not difficult - mostly stone stairs.

This was a great hike. It was a little steep in some places. When I got to the top I followed a blue blaze trail and come out at the Stony Mountain fire tower. I then went to the pink trail and finished the loop. I saw one turkey and a garter snake. It was a beautiful day to be out.

Nice hike. We started counter-clockwise and had a nice easy ascent up a well carved trail. We managed to loose the blazes on the ridge after passing the fire tower so keep an eye out up there. We also came across some orange blazes we followed and eventually realized it was taking us off the recorded trail. I also noticed it wasn’t on a trail map either so we backtracked to the blue blazes. The descent was rocky and pretty steep for the first half mile or so, and the whole trail was generally overgrown. Nice hike but not sure if I would do it a second time (maybe to try climbing that tower, I was hesitant to without any safety equipment).

Was nice and flat but only did few miles into it until we turned around. Drove back to gate then walked. Peaceful and colorful trail. Will do this one again and hopefully walk more of a distance.

First backpacking overnight and it was great. Did not hike through the beaver dam took the dry route.
