Shouldn't even be on this app. Overgrown and not enjoyable. Less than halfway up and we gave it up as a bad job. Might be better after the frost kills off some of the undergrowth, but wear long pants. The saw briars made my legs look like a herd of housecats had attacked me.

Fun little trail, improvised and went out Lingle Valley Trail.

Easy, and scenic hike. Wooded path around the lake with a couple open areas. Bugs were plentiful under the trees, bring bug repellent. Watch for mountain bikers.

Well-maintained, easy loop trail. Nothing super special about the scenery, but it was definitely pretty.. Great hike for beginners and kids. Not many blazes on the trail, but it was easy to follow and blazes were present where they were needed. Signage was good. Altogether a nice little walk.

Fun trail, some parts better for hiking than running. Decently steep ascent in the beginning. Mid state trail was pretty rocky and not great for running. North meadows road is definitely run-able. Bear meadows loop was insanely muddy and pretty flooded. Rest of the trail was runable. Great views on mid state trail at top of the mountain.

Good trail on an overcast day. As others have stated the initial section was more than easy. However once starting the trek up the mountain became more than “moderate” in my opinion. Did the trail with 2 dogs and that definitely made it a little more difficult. Made the bike with my 10 and 8 year old. A significant amount of grumbling from both however when we reached the summit I was pleased to hear “woah!” from both. The view makes it all worth it.

This trail is a death trap.

Definitely a tough hike. The distance plus the elevation change is a true test. Some of the trails were pretty grown over but otherwise it was great. Be on the lookout for rattlesnakes, I saw 2 today!

Overall a pretty reasonable hike with some steeper areas and some varied terrain. Didn’t see or hear rattlers. Another hiker said there were some up the trail so I turned back after the throne room. Parking area not well marked.

Beautiful trail with great views! Will echo the other reviews - some decent rocky bits. We also saw two rattlesnakes in open outcrops, one right on the trail. Be mindful of them!

Mapleton to Butler Knob Shelter

Trails are always well maintained. beautiful mountain laurel all over with big rock outcroppings. Awesome place for day hiking the multiple trail systems!

First off we loved this as a quick hike! As others have said, it’s definitely not easy! The first half of the single track to the top is really steep (and slippery in the rain), once you’re past that it’s rocky and still uphill but much more manageable. The drive in ends on a dirt road and is a bit questionable in the rain, but our corolla made it up slowly... All in all a great hike and excited to explore more of the area!

easy walk but horrible scenery. walked most of the trail through clear cut and along deer fences

Two good and a tough descent to finish. Marshy at times but in good condition.

They've clear cut a good move in the beginning and the end about half a mile in. I'd walk the road to avoid that.

I would recommend this trail for those who wants a combination of moderate to hard hiking. There are serval parts of the trail that are very rocky so it’s better if you have some trail run shoes instead of boots.
