Loved this little trail! I didn’t have time for the falls loop so did this instead. Great water fall (Adams Falls) and the trail is nice. It has educational placards along the way to teach you about the forest. Great for kids. Parking can be a problem though. I waited for someone to leave which was only 10 minutes.

Excellent trail run. Well marked and perfectly PA with lots of rocks and roots, but totally runnable on the ascent and descent. I recommend starting at the lowest point of the Falls Trail. There’s a trail head right off Highway 118 and across the street from that is an auxiliary parking lot with about 30 parking spaces. There’s a much larger parking lot about a third of a mile down Highway 118 that has a very short spur that connects to the Falls Trail. The ascent was quite challenging with over 1000 feet of vertical gain in less than 4 miles. Once you get to the top and you connect to the Bear Walk trail it’s relatively flat and rides the top of the mountain for about a mile or so and is a nice break to catch your breath before starting the descent. It was my first time ever at Ricketts Glen and I wasn’t sure what the crowds would be like. They turned out to be pretty large so it definitely slowed me down going up and coming back down but hikers were super courteous and let me pass at the first convenient opportunity. If you want a relatively uninterrupted running experience I suggest getting there as early as possible. I’ll certainly be back to check out some of the other spurs off of the main trails to add additional mileage. FYI- All Trails had it at 9 miles and it was closer to 8 miles

Nice trail. Pretty easy except for some rocky spots here and there. Don’t expect too much of a view at Grand View. The trees have grown a bit.

Very difficult, left with blood and bruises. 5.5 hours time for 10.1 loop and we filled in to complete the full loop which is posted elsewhere online. The first half we somewhat followed this AT trail but due to the plateau trail not being marked and no clear path it became a bit difficult to navigate in the forest. We crossed paths with one group and at that point the descent trail was evident and visible down to the water. If you start at Sullivan Falls and move upstream you will find yourself now at the bottom of Sullivan Falls where there is a zig zagged foot path that takes you back up to the lot of Sullivan Falls. Very demanding and challenging. Many great areas to swim as well but today the water was too cold. In some reviews elsewhere I read about snakes and bears but only came across frogs and porcupines. A trekking pole helps immensely on this trail as well.

Went in the fall, moderate traffic on footpath which is narrow in spots. Highly suggest good footwear especially on muddy days. Some spots are very slippery but the waterfalls are beautiful!

Overall great trail, a bit crowded but we went on a weekend. I was surprised at the amount of people without masks and just complete disregard for social distancing, areas of the trail it is impossible to do, understandable, but walking 3 wide, single file people, single file. Beautiful, picturesque views, The surroundings, rocks, moss and waterfalls were beautiful and completely worth the entire climb back up. More muddy than rocky as the rocks were flat unlike what I’m used to in Jersey. It was crowded as i said already but Hopefully we will come back after COVID midweek to really enjoy all this trail us to offer.

Started on falls trail at sunrise trying to beat the crowds. It worked out well as we had most of the falls to ourselves. Easy climb up being there was so much to see. Took highland trail over to bulldozer. Bulldozer was quiet and secluded only saw four other people. But much of bulldozer was pretty much a washout. Tons of mud and very rocky. Wicked steep toward the end. If you want a beat down start with bulldozer.

A great hike when you do the full loop. Definitely wear proper hiking shoes because it can get steep and is muddy in some areas. Only thing is it has a lot of foot traffic of people not wearing masks. I suggest you go earlier in the morning to avoid the afternoon rush of people coming in without the masks. Also bring a bag for your trash because there aren’t trash cans in the parking lot!

Nice trail, if you are looking for an easier trail to hike in the area minus the falls loop this is the one for you. Great hike for everyone to get out and into nature!!!

Really steep first mile but so worth it

This is got to be one of the best trails in Pennsylvania. A lot of scenic waterfalls. Well maintained trail. Went on a Thursday and there was a lot of people on the trail. I’m sure it’s even busier on the weekend. Good for young and older. We did the 10 mile loop by starting out at the campground taking the beach trail to the falls trail. It was a perfect day.

I know this is a very well rated and respected trail and I get it, it's a nice walk especially if you want to see a bunch of waterfalls, some small, a lot mid sized and a couple big, but if you are looking for an adventure like hike, I dont think this fits that category. I gave it 4 stars because it does have nice waterfalls otherwise I would have given it a 3 for hike, I couldnt believe it was rated "moderate" until the 1/3 uphill walk which was actually a bit challenging. I think it's something to see, but I have heard the legend of Ricketts glen so long in my life that when I saw it I was expecting something a little more epic. We just got back during the week not too crowded my understanding is weekend is a parade of people.
