Great hike, especially if you do some research on the history of the area!

Trail in good condition. Good for young kids and for pets. Stream to play in and the spring was cool, shady and a fun for the kids. We started at the trail head near the west picnic area. The picnic area was well maintained and in good condition with clean restrooms. It was busy the day we went (weekend), most wore masks and everyone tried to provide social distancing per COVID mitigation.

Fairly easy trail with just a little elevation gain and woods. The waterfall is more like a trickle. Just an OK trail.

Nice trail! Easy but can get a bit of cardio in if you start with the uphill portion coming from the parking lot. The water was really pretty and we saw several birds around. Loved that it wasn’t very muddy and was blazed well. Bring bug spray because there are tons of little gnats constantly trying to get in your face. Also took the Upland trail that connects to Mineral Springs and enjoyed that as well with lots of wildflowers, butterflies, and dragonflies.

Great trail! Nice mix of up and downhill. Great for dogs and kids! There was a family there playing in the water so that is a fun option! A little muddy in places but nothing terrible. The waterfalls are trickles of water but worth the view! It was a fun beginner trail! It had bridges, stairs, rocks, logs, things to climb over and was a lot of fun!

Not a trail for someone looking for a little stroll. Pack your boots and some water. There were spots that were pretty muddy and were a challenge to pass. Remember everty time you find yourself walking down hill there will be a long uphill haul to follow. It was fun and good exercise, but get started early you won’t want to be out there after dark!!

First time visiting Raccoon Creek State Park. We went out early and hiked in the rain for about half the trip. There was nice variety in the train, starting with the steep ascent at the beginning of the trail. The trail was obviously muddy with the rain, and we had trouble crossing a few sections — but this was more because of our want to stay clean than actual uncrossable terrain. We accidentally went further than anticipated, and crossed off the trail going northwards along an unpaved road leading to Cabin Road. From there we hiked along the road until reaching the Lake Trail, which was practically turned into a swamp from the rain. We went all along the Lake Trail until merging with the Forest Trail and heading east along the lake and resting on the dam before taking the short walk back to our car. We hiked about 12 miles total in the day.

Enjoyable little trail. Can take various routes/turns along the way. Would recommend taking a look at the map near the trailhead before heading out. Mostly flat with a few areas to take a closer look at the nearby creek. Was fairly muddy along the way.

Cute short muddy trail next to the main road. Scenic little waterfall towards the end of the loop!

This is a great trail. 4 miles of varied terrain. It begins quite gently along an old service road. Don’t let that fool you. ( unless you’re looking for the climbs). When the Lake Trail essentially ended, we headed ‘left’ downhill and into the forest. It was beautiful!! Several muddy areas, couple of shallow stream crossings but nothing major. Just a beautiful hike thru the forest. I’d recommend hiking shoes or boots. The muddy areas look like they’re probably a permanent hazard. Enjoy

Very nice and easy trail to a cute little “waterfall”, more like a trickle but still neat! A little uphill in places but quit gradual. Well marked so it is easy to stay on trail and not get mixed up with the others. Muddy in a few places and wet but able to avoid. Overall, family friendly and quick and easy hike.

The forest trial was really fun. Bit difficult when u r climbing upside. Can go with kids as well..

This is a lovely, scenic trail to a beautiful waterfall. The trail is muddy in spots, but it’s easy to get around. Lots of shade and the trail is flat. Great for little kids. There’s a creek with small fish and frogs that runs along the trail. If you don’t want to follow the path through the creek bed where it’s a little slippery in parts and rocky, you can use heritage trail instead where it intersects to get to the waterfall.

Very easy trail and very picturesque. Great for beginning hikers or hikers with kids.

Very nice hike. There were a few muddy spots but not terrible have seen worse in the past week.

We did about two miles in and back. Was muddy but beautiful. A little busy, but it was a beautiful Saturday! Definitely tick season, our dog picked quite a few. Will definitely be back.

very easy trail very muddy after a weeks worth of rain would be easy w dogs or kids waterfall and a stream

We hiked from the start to where the trail crosses Raccoon Creek Rd, which is about halfway and walked along the road to return to the parking lot. This gave us a chance to see the lake, which the Heritage Trail does not get close to. Just an OK trail. It starts off with a nice ascent but not much else after that. Saw some wildflowers and crossed a small creek. Very muddy but it did rain a couple days back. Next time we come to this park, we will try a different trail.

Nice trail! Not sure if we followed it exactly as mapped her due to no trail markings indicating wildflower reserve trail. Several trails overlapped but when following map we were able to hike in general direction. Ended up doing 2.4 miles. Muddy and overgrown in some spots, but passable. Slightly steep inclines at start and finish but mostly flat during the majority of the hike. Would do again!

We made a 6 mile loop that included part of Forest Trail. Parked on road to camping area. Took Heritage Trail to Wetlands Trail to Forest Trail. it waa only muddy in parts. The Wetlands Trail was the prettiest most interesting part.
