Lovely trail, we just did the loop around the creek, which was 1.2 miles. Lots of rocks & roots a snakes.

This was such a lovely hike through some rocky terrain to start, then the path became level and easy to traverse. The rush of water as you walk lessens into quiet amongst the trees. Beautiful views.

No view or real destination. Navigation by the creek a bit tricky. Beautiful forest and creek walk though.

Beautiful

Beautiful trail. Rocky in areas but easy to work through. The "Little Falls" are beaitiful and there are many spots to sit and admire them. I took my son and two senior german shepherds who all did very well on this trail. I would like to go back in the fall to see the color changes!

Easy, well maintained loop.

6/16/19: Wide, easy, flat trail around the island. There are several side trails leading to the lake edge, most with benches.

Well maintained trail but it was a bit of an obstacle course. Went on first day of trout season (oversight on our part) so it was a bit crowded with no parking near the trailhead. I would recommend wearing waterproof shoes as the trail was very muddy. Short but fun! Cross where the bridge is right now as further up the trail is completely washed out (as per the park rangers advice). Great for dogs and kids!

3/26/19. nice easy trail. great for all skill levels. dog friendly. watch for patches of ice if taking someone a little older. nice views.

Fun trail, definitely rocky and not very well-traversed, so you may really need to rely on blazes. Absolutely grab a park map. Went in early fall and there were some trees down on/across the trail, especially along the southern side. There are also some spots near the inlets and wetlands that involve creative rock-hopping or waterproof shoes because vernal streams may overtake the trail--The largest was about 1.5 ft deep and about 15 ft. across after a few days of rain on the NW side. There are cabins all around the lake, and parts of the trail do involve walking on sections of paved roads. This trail itself is not a true loop, but you can make one easily enough with the other trails in the park. The fastest way between trailheads is to walk the paved Park Road bordering the lake.

This is great place for short hike. The views of the lake are nice. The trail is very easy to walk and to follow.

Too crowded but very picturesque. The trail is a bit of an obstacle course but we enjoyed it

Love this trail! It’s been raining a ton recently so it was gorgeous and flowing a ton. I would highly recommend!

First off, trail improperly marked on the app. Boundary trail is follows the boundary of Promised Land State Park. Second it is not a loop trail. If you want to do the trail or parts of it please stop at the park office and get a map. Great trail, pretty rocky and some spots need a bit more blazing.

One of my favorite trails in the area. filled with wild mountain laural and rhododendron week of July 4th and week after each year. Nice trail around lake.

This trail is not maintained at all. It was scary as there were lots of overgrown bushes covering the path. A poodle might fit to go through the path. A bit disappointing to not be able to complete this hike.

This was a great trail to hike. Clearly marked. Nice variety in view. There's a couple nice waterfalls. it was a little muddy in spots due to it raining for two days before. But manageable. Took our dog with us. she did well and enjoyed the walk. I definitely recommend this trail for those looking for a nice trail with waterfalls.

Pretty trail but right now it is still under 2-12" of slushy snow in spots. With the melting snow, the length of the trail is flooded so if you don't have waterproof boots, forget about it. Additionally, the younger trees along the trail are still bowed over with icy, compacted snow, closing off the trail in places and forcing you to detour. As the anow melts, yiu can see the amount of damage done to the forest by our 3 Nor'easters. Be prepared to climb over fallen trees, and trip over the multitude of fallen branches. The rapid and waterfalls are ronning fast and hard, so the sunshine and the sound of water certainly made the hike worthwhile. KatD
