Took a mix of the short and long loop on accident, it can be a bit complicated if you aren’t using a map or the app. All in all there’s some nice hills, a bit of wildlife, nice mix between mud grass rocks and a few little bridges as well. Nice scenic views of Lake Arthur especially the bit that is basically right on the shore. Seems like a good place for a dog walk or for a family hike too.

Good trail appropriately classified as moderate with elevation changes. It is a long trail through the woods where you rarely cross any roads or see civilization. However, it is pretty well marked with several escape routes before the end if you want to cut it short and you are never far from the park roads.

I hike this regularly as I live only an hour away and it does not get old since you can alter it a bit each time. On this particular time I did 7 miles out and looped back to the paved walk way at the marina which I took back to car for a total of 14 miles.

I rarely see people on this trail so it is a nice getaway.

This was one of the best hikes that we had all year long. First I must say The trail was well maintained really good ground to walk on
On our journey we seen deer and birds wild flowers and trees that lead us along a grassy path down to lake Arthur where you can view the beach and boat launch as the path loops around and back up to the parking area.
Well worth your time to hike it.

If you prefer a flat trail, this is for you! Will I be back? Of course. Is it a challenging trail? Not at all. This trail is lovely. You will feel as though you're walking along a flower garden. You will also walk along the lake.

If you're taking small children on a walk, you will love this. If you're unsure about beginning a hike due to your physical limitations - give this a try. Whatever you do - just get outside!

Nice paved trail, good for biking, mostly flat, but beware. The ticks are absolutely unreal. Took my pup and pulled 50+ off her ( with zeresto collar). Fortunately, I didn't have any on me. But, I've never seen them that bad anywhere. I stay to McConnell's Mills ( nearby) never have had a problem there ( plus there's a lot more to see).

Fun little jaunt, swampy in areas, but easily navigated. scenic area with bench for little ones to rest and a great view at about the half way point.

This is a frequent for us over some of the other trails around the lake. It's perfect for kids.

This is an amazing trail. It has a lot of elevation change but the trail is well-kept and the dirt feels great under the boots!

There were a few miles where the bugs were bothersome and we walked into quite a few webs...but for an 11 mile hike, about 2-3 were a bit annoying.

We will be back to complete the entire trail in the fall to see the changing of the leaves and the disappearance of bugs and super-humidity. We hiked to the docks for lunch and it was so scenic and calm.

Pretty views. Be prepared to trek through several swampy patches on trail

I love kayaking out at Moraine. So many spots you can dock and so many places you can get out to explore. Love it!

The paved bike trail within Moraine State Park is 7 miles long (not a loop). It starts at the Bike Rental on North Shore Drive near the park entrance from West Park Road. The paved trail winds along, with some hills, grades, and curves, and many views of the lake. About halfway it passes through Lakeview Beach area, with a disc golf course, playground, and a swimming area (open Memorial Day to Labor Day, swim at your own risk), food concession, and picnic areas. The bike trail ends near Davis Hollow.

Fun path to hike with friends. Not very challenging for longer distance hikers, but fun trip to Moraine.

Nice trail with some mild/moderate elevation change. I did it with snow on the ground so that changes it a bit. You hear the road, I-79, so it's not a quiet walk but still worth the trek.

A good hike with some mild elevation changes and a nice section that runs along lake Arthur. Watch for mud in spring and fall by the lake.

This is a nice trail to work off the picnic you just had at Moraine's South Shore beach~

Nice easy and accessible trail for families, young kids, dogs, or just about anyone. My wife and our 7 week old hiked the short loop in just about an hour which was ~2.5 miles. The trail was well maintained for the most part with only a few sections that were overgrown but nothing that wasn't manageable. We followed the blue blazes. Once our daughter gets older we'll probably go back out and complete the entire loop.

It was nice along the lake, didn't care for the grass section

I enjoyed this path for how short it was. It was snow covered, which made it more difficult, but it was a beautiful trail.

We only went out a mile before we turned around but it was such a great trail! It was easily followed and absolutely beautiful. One fair warning is that there were small-game hunters so be sure to wear a bright color. I am definitely planning on going back and completing the entire trail!

I'm not sure how this got a rating of difficult, the hills were not that strenuous and all of the stream crossings and boggy areas had bridges and board walks. I would rate it as moderate. The trail itself is actually very easy to follow and blazed well. The north country trail signs are practically new and even had maps at intersections/road crossings. The paper map found at the trailhead didn't do a good job of showing where the NCT and GRT part ways and intersect, it had them mapped as the same trail, which for the most part it is, but there are a couple areas where they break away from each other. The Jennings Environmental Education Center was very easy to find right on 528 and the shuttle to the trail head was roughly 20 minutes. You'll find the trail on North Shore Dr about a half mile beyond the bike concession stand on your left hand side, big GRT sigh, can't miss it.

This is an easy 3+ mile trail. It does get muddy by the lake on occasion. They recently went through and did some trail maintenance. The blazes were freshened up and are easily seen. The trail was cleared and is nice and open. Overall a top pick for me if I want to do an easy 3 mile hike. Would be good for trail running as well.

Very easy trail through wooded grassy areas. Can get wet if there has been rain. No real inclines and relatively quick. There is a section at about the 3/4 point where you hike through some long grass which isn't clearly marked as the trail. Easy enough to find your way back however.

Nice, easy quick 1-1.5 hour hike. Sneakers or sandals would be fine, however it can get muddy when it rains or by the lake. Wooded in parts and open in other. No real trail markings, but easy to get around. No real elevation change so not strenuous.

Nice quiet walk through the woods

We hiked both the short and long trails in one day, and enjoyed both. As others mentioned, the markings were relatively nonexistent, but the scenery was very nice. We recommend both hikes, though encourage others to wear boots (or old shoes) when walking by the lake, as it was muddy for sure. Have fun on these hikes!
