Easy walk. Turtles, deer, fish, heron, neat upturned trees, geocaches, beautilful lake views.

Beautiful area! Went with my oldest daughter.About half of the trail is shaded, probably a good idea to apply sunscreen. It is also buggy in some areas but not too bad we used bug spray. A lot of nice wildlife and water fowl..

Nice and easy trail run this morning. Trail is made up of crushed stone and grass paths. Been rainy lately but trail was in good shape and not muddy. Don’t forget to check for ticks when you get back to your car.

This was my first time visiting the Montour Preserve, I came to run the trail. The trail is well marked and well maintained. Even with all of the recent rain the trail was in good shape. Because of the rain, the grassy areas of the trail were a little high and I did get a couple of ticks on me. The trail has a few small hills, according to my Garmin the elevation change from lowest point to highest point is only about 100 feet. There are two bathroom areas easily accessible from the trail, about 3 miles apart in 1 direction and a mile apart in the other.

Fun jaunt through the woods, the lake is pretty. Nice place for kids but no dogs unfortunately.

I love this place, always have; brings back childhood memories. Fairly easy, great for bird watching. The fossil pit across the parking lot (towards the end of the lake, not the entrance) is great too.

easy walk. enjoyable!

We have enjoyed this trail for years.. fields, woods, lake, stream, wooden bridges, water fowl and white tail deer, a little bit of everything... love it!!

Nice trail. Gets alittle muddy after rain, but it's still a nice quick hiking trail.

Great views of the lake. We saw a hawk go fishing and eat its lunch on a tree branch right next to us. There are small looping path that go to the lake.

good place to go get in 4 miles

Friday, August 18, 2017

The trail is 50% crushed gravel and 50% grass. You wouldn't want to do this run in the rain. It would be too slippery. The trail was in the woods and circled a gorgeous reservoir. At 6 AM there was no one else on the trail besides me.

Our "go-to" trail for local hikes. It's 4.5 miles with a loop that follows the lake. Several hundred snow geese stop by every spring. They're here now. It's a wonderful spectacle!

Nice loop trail. A little wet today.

Came here for a hike but it was so easy it was more of a walk. Very calm atmosphere. Informational posts to read as well as some benches to relax. Nobody on the trail but me it seemed. Huge parking and park area for picnicking, grilling, etc. Edit: This is the same trail as the Montour Preserve that circles the lake.

Mostly gravel path with gentle, small slopes. Not very difficult. About 4 miles long. Plenty of parking.

It is a nice area and well maintained, a lot of wildlife and beautiful views. Not a lot of people but sometimes there are buses of schoolchildren during the week. Good educational opportunities for kids like educational center and fossil pit. One nag NOT PET FRIENDLY.
