High atop Laurel Ridge at close to 3,000 feet in elevation, Laurel Mountain State Park features a family-oriented downhill skiing area and beautiful views of the rolling countryside of the Ligonier Valley. The slopes and trails provide opportunities for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and the lodge is a cozy place to eat and enjoy the view. Opened in 1939, Laurel Mountain was one of the first ski areas in Pennsylvania.

Nice easy bike trail

Lots of trail options to make your hike as long or as short as you want. You can drive down laurel summit rd a little further and trails are less muddy

I parked at the ski patrol hit near the laurel mountain ski resort entrance and biked summit trail to spruce, then to beam, then Burma road trail back to laurel summit road to get back to the hut. great trail, lots of rocks, some mud and roots. challenging but not too challenging for the moderately fit biker because the elevation changes were minimal.

Easy walk to the rock..if you feel adventuresome, climb down and walk around....

Moderate hike. Views are breathtaking. Trails could be marked ‘better’ as some intertwine and can lead you on a trail you’re not aware of.

I loved this hike. The view, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing was absolutely stunning. I’ve been back several times and brought my nieces for a photo shoot. Moderate hike. Kid friendly.
