Loved this trail. Very pretty views along the water with multiple falls. The dam looks really nice with water cascading over the edge. Easy to moderate short hike.

Very nice trail to a pretty waterfall. Easy hike for all levels except those with disabilities. Nicely wooded.

Great hiking with lots of waterfalls and woods. The trail is a bit narrow and slippery in a few places. I’d say adults only for at least over 13 years old.

Great place to bring your pooch. Scenic, just wished there was a view from the top.

Very pretty, scenic and flat trail. Comes out to a little pretty waterfall.

Awesome to be out in the woods. Saw a baby black bear and boulder field was legit!

it's the least maintained trail within the hickory run trail system. some of the trail is washed out or currently discharging groundwater. not a tough hike, but rough footing due to trail washouts. it's about 7 miles round trip. Boulder field is awesome.

Just went there today and a total disaster! It is NOT kid friendly at all and it is very difficult hiking. Your rating of “moderate” is completely misleading. In fact, the state park website gives it the most difficult rating, which is very true. This is the first time I use this app and the data is totally misleading. I think I’m going to erase this app for good...

My absolute favorite trail. It is so beautiful in the fall with changing views and terrain throughout. Bring your camera for some amazing pictures. Waterfalls, stream through the woods, a dam, beautiful reflections in the water. It just gets better as you go.

A walk in Filer for two hours is a metaphor for life in general. Travelers embark on their journey emerging from a street corner onto the straight and narrow path in bright light and fresh smells. Shortly into the casual stroll, you pass by the place we all end up and how we get there represented by a giant metal cock next to a cemetery. You will quickly forget your destination as you continue on, completely miscalculating the course of excruciating bullshit headed your way by assuming the direction of leaves blowing is reliable. Soon you will be overcome like Napoleon at Waterloo by penetrating sands and corn husks while trudging at a 45 degree angle. Fortunately, geriatric guardian angels emerge during weather advisories to shop for farm property and rescue saturated road-plodders. Completion of this hike is best celebrated near the chocolate bowl without wearing pants.

A nice relaxing hike, with plenty of mini-waterfalls throughout. Beautiful at peak leaf season. It can get busy. It is rocky and with lots of tree roots, sometimes muddy/slippery if you venture near or in the water.

2 stars because after realizing it's 6 miles EACH WAY and reading that you can drive right to the boulder field we walked back to the car and left the hiking to the boulders!!!!

heed the crowd warnings! nice short walk to pretty falls.

baby waterfall eye candy!!! walking through the laurels was gorgeous! though I do understand about the incredible amount of people. once the trail hit the road we decided to walk back on the road to save our knees. well worth the time!!

Great trail, way too many people though. Weekdays would be better with less traffic. Every other person has a camera and it has a touristy feel

Don't try to follow the black trail lines! Follow the paths that others have taken, which are also the "marked" trails. My path wasn't as crazy as it seems, GPS lost us, however we were scrambling up the hillside through moss and wet rocks.

This is not really a challenging hike but it is really beautiful. There are a number of waterfalls and even some great places with great rock formations. The trail is not wide so it would be more difficult if you pick a popular time but Sunday morning was great and only on the way back did I see anyone on the trail.

Hickory Run is one of my favorite places to hike with my husband and our dog. Easy hike, lots of beautiful mountain laurel. Then we visit the amazing boulder field! perfect day trip.
