Fantastic hike. Blazed perfectly. If you get lost your a moron.

Found the start this trail to be difficult to find (apparently the big Rachel Carson sign refers to a pavilion). It also links up with the 15 mile Rachel Carson trail outside of the park which is confusing. Best I can tell this trail is only a loop if you link up to another trail so make sure to map your route ahead or you'll end up taking a not so scenic trip along a major highway.

I love this park because the blazing is done super well and it's not a terribly hard hike. Be super careful on the southeast section of this loop though because there is a ton of broken glass on the path. There used to be dumping sites here before they formed the park and when there's a big rain, all the loose pieces come down the hill and litter the trail.

I have to disagree with the users who said this trail was well marked. The last nice day of the year we decided to try and hike this trail, but it was VERY poorly marked. I don't know why, but the yellow markings used to denote the rachel carson trail ended up taking us out of the park, and onto main roads in the neighborhood. Once we realized this was likely wrong, we were 2 miles out of the park. Last nice day of the year was a waste.

Really nice trail. Good workout for a 4 miler, plus beautiful changing landscape. Highly recommend.

Very enjoyable trail with lots of different terrain and....horses?? Love this trail.

Saw a beautiful rainbow sitting at the pond! Overall great trail and greatly marked!
