Description

Note: The park is closed between the third Saturday of November and the second Friday of April. Archbald State Park, located in northeastern Pennsylvania, is named for the glacial geologic formation that is 38 feet deep and circular in shape. The pothole was carved out of the rock by a waterfall and then filled by falling sand and rock. Visitors can see the park from a short nature trail. Strip mining in the area impacted the park's landscape in places, leading to plans for reclamation and improvements for recreational visitors in the near future.
