Very pretty falls, good viewpoints, and an enjoyable trail in between. Great for anyone looking for an easily accessible moderate trail.

Overgrown in some areas with fallen logs can get around a good trail running trail for conditioning. The waterfalls are best viewed in the spring/early summer with the snow melt.
There are little blue diamonds throughout the trail that help guide you through the trails/overgrowth. When in doubt look for the blue diamonds.

Hiked this with my younger brother, and I must say that it was very pleasant. Easy and was just plain enjoyable. Definitely bringing more people with us next time.

Salt Creek falls was incredible. It’s accessible from the parking lot and a quick walk on a cement path. Diamond falls is a couples miles in, and there are two viewing points. Depending on which fork you take on the loop (I recommend going left first) you’ll get to see diamond falls from the upper view first. The second viewing point is the lower point. Part of this trail is washed out, I didn’t feel comfortable proceeding to this view point. From what we were told, the view is about the same as the upper point which is completely accessible, and just a view of the falls from a different angle. Don’t feel bad if you can’t make it, part of it is pretty sketchy. Go at your own risk.

Side note: there is a trail that will proceed off to Vivian lake, which is what I believe the primary hiker did on the main recording. A couple of miles in you reach a crossing that gets pretty deep. If you don’t mind getting your shoes soaked, or want to brave the cold water bear foot, then take this trail. Even if you don’t make it to the lake, it’s still pretty awesome to see because there’s some snow left in this area.

Overall, this trail was completely worth the drive wherever you’re coming from!

This is a long but easy hike that is great for dogs and small children. We went all the way to Opal Pool and it ended up being about 8.5 miles round trip. My kiddos are both under 6 and they did a great job. They were tired at the end and fell asleep immediately. Bring snacks for sure. Not the most strenuous workout but beautiful and enjoyable.

*Road has been repaired. Must nicer than previous trips out here.

Surprisingly great hike! Lots of different scenery. Waterfall a mile or so in. Finished up at Three Pools. Trails are fun.

BEAUTIFUL HIKE! The pool is incredible. Lots of snow for most of the hike and it was raining, but that meant we were the only ones doing the trail. A little tough at some points, but will be doing this hike again!

As of 5/17/18 trail is flooded in spots and has quite a bit of snow.

Hiked the loop to the falls and then up to the lake.
Bring poles- the scramble to the bottom of the falls is slick and muddy.
Regular trail running shoes are fine.

Spectacular hike!

I thought this trail was wonderful. The wildflowers are just starting to bloom. It is easy to follow. It’s a a light moderate, the isn’t a view at the top, but it’s nice to relax and get some sun

Great place for more people to come out to the Oregon wilderness and leave their shit and trash and toilet paper laying around the campsites. Half of these sites need rehabilitation because people don't know how to camp without ruining stuff. It won't be long before a permit is required to hike in to Marion specifically, just like Jefferson Park which has been ruined because idiots put it in books and online blogs saying come visit. That's what ruins it. Yes so let's spread the word online and in all the books what a great place Marion Lake is and then the city folks in Portland and Bend who need spoon fed to come backpacking can come out and ruin the place. Great idea!!!

We enjoyed this trail thru the Old Growth Willamette Forest. A little over two miles in is the Goodman creek and has a cute little waterfall and swimming hole. We took the Goodman Creek fork. Little muddy in spots but trail is in good condition. Lots of wild flowers we enjoyed this hike. Will be back to do one of the other seven hikes off this trail.

Great Hike! Went on Saturday! Was challenging at moments. Lots of up and downs. Not for your first hike of the season.

Perfect. Amazing falls. Easy trail.

What a great hike ,,thanks to Nicole and kujo..I had a great trip with them ,,beautiful Oregon, ,

We the company of 9 tried to make it today to the lake. Honestly tried but had to bail because the higher the more the trail was covered with snow and thus hard to find. We reached Fall Creek Falls and took pictures, will probably give it another try in summer.

We weren’t sure if we found the loop trail but started at Sahalie Falls parking lot which is right at the falls. A Beautiful and big gushing waterfall. Then follow A beautiful trail along the water with many soots to stop and take photos. The trail was busy on Mother’s Day so get there early on the weekends. Very little parking too. But well worth the experience. We walked along the water until we got to Koosah Falls. Amazing. We had to turn around there due to needing to get back home. But well worth the drive and time.

most beautiful place ive ever been

Amazing views and great hike! The water is the most incredible shade of bluish green I have seen. The hike is challenging at some parts, but it makes it fun and exciting. Definitely not a boring trail. We were probably the only people who camped there overnight, but there was some decent traffic during the days. Overall, I definitely recommend it!

Good easy hike, Wish it was longer. Almost think I missed something it was so short but very beautiful!

Breathe taking. A must see!

Good trail. Very family friendly. There is a gradual grade but nothing too crazy. Snow still dots the ground past the lake. Official camp sites seemed crowded.

It’s a nice walk for a hot sunny day! Can’t wait to come back to swim here.
On an off note it was insanely busy... sunny Saturday .. weekend ... bad time to go! Have went during the week before though and it was so peaceful.

**potholes have been fixed so the gravel road to the trail head is in awesome shape!

Really easy day hike! Beautiful river views

Hiked on 4/26.
Gate still locked about .7 miles from parking lot. Snow on about 1/4 if the trail, so make sure you have waterproof boots. Blazes are easily visible when you can’t see the trail.
Both falls are in full volume so if you enjoy solitude, don’t mind a bit of snow, now is the time to hike.

hiked to the waterfall (more like a tall rapid) yesterday. The trail was decently maintained with only a tree or two over the trail but boy was it slick and muddy in some spots. Luckily I was the only one with a decent pair of boots and didn't take any spills but my two friends weren't so lucky.

Hiked this every year growing up, it’s a beautiful hike and a gorgeous place to camp. Lots of wildlife, especially deer and birds. Lake is leech free and is very refreshing. Also has access to tons of trails and day hikes, such as 3 fingered jack. Only downside is you can’t have a fire, which if you’re going in the summer isn’t a huge deal. Highly recommend, especially with families.

My favorite hike so far ! :) pretty easy, beautiful views !!! Few rocky points

Amazing views and open fields on cliff sides. A must see!
