Nice trail! Lots of foliage, birds, and people. It’s busy so bring a mask! This trail may be strenuous at some points but mostly smoother terrain with some exposed roots. I would recommend this for families and dogs that have some stamina.

HikingGreat!

Took this trail without realizing Forest Park won’t be open again until 9/24/20. Oops! Anyway, this trail is in good condition and easy to follow. Some incline as you near Pittock Mansion. The view from up there is worth it! Also, there are a lot of photos posted here that are not taken from this route! The creek and “Witch’s Castle” are not along this outlined section of trail.

Very nice trail. Incredibly confusing if you do not have a map. Also, be sure you do not drink too much water as there are no bathroom facilities on the trail and no privacy if you needed to sneak off in the woods. We started the trail around 8:20 AM and it was still relatively crowded on the trail. Thankfully everyone we passed was wearing a mask.

Trail was very nice! Not super crowded but definitely popular. It is mostly shaded and is very tranquil.

Look at the map before you go because there are a lot of intersections. Have fun out there!

Lovely start at the Vietnam Memorial. Thereafter, it is standard Forest Park, with windy trails through tall trees & lush undergrowth.

Great for a first date or catching up with an old friend. It's easy to get taken away and head down a different trail, but who's in a hurry? This loop is a great intro to the parks and attractions located in this area of Portland.

Parked on the side of the road and walked to the beginning of the trail. Nice hike! It’s constantly surrounded by different types of trees. Bring a mask because there are plenty of people on the trail (specially running).

HikingGreat!

There are many many trails here so it’s easy to find yourself on a different path than you intended, but it was still a good time! My friend and I had a fun time here. There are some nice and shaded areas, some inclines, makes for a pretty easy hike with variability.

Great trail! I wouldn’t necessarily say it was easy. I definitely worked up a good sweat with the hills. But the views were great!

8/9/20 Beautiful trail for some urban hiking. We extended the loop to include the Portland Rose Garden (roses still in bloom) and the the lookout point to Mt. St. Helen’s & Mt. Rainer. Parking is metered. You can use: card, coins or Parking Kitty app. $8 max for full day parking. We recorded the trail as most people said they easily got off of it. A bunch of turns but we stayed on the path with this suggestion (minus our roses detour).

Pretty little hike, no challenges there. The recording is a bit wonky at time, so you’ll have to disable the “off trail” warning.
