The small overnight campground offers RV and tent campsites, along with two beautiful one-room log cabins. These warm and cozy cabins sleep four comfortably. They also have covered porches which overlook picturesque Lake Marie. Two rustic yurts and six deluxe yurts are also available in the campground (the deluxe yurts feature restrooms, a kitchenette, TV/VCR and beds). Showers and restrooms are centrally located. This beautiful and quiet campground has yet to be discovered by crowds of camping enthusiasts. The park is centered in the stretch of towering sand dunes protected by the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. These dunes, many of which reach heights of 500 feet or more, are ideal for the off-road enthusiast, or for the person who enjoys the magnificent wonders of nature. For more information about the dunes and the recreational opportunities offered, contact the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area visitor center in nearby Reedsport or call (541) 271-3611. The Umpqua River Lighthouse towers above the entrance to Winchester Bay. The 65-foot tower contains a distinctive lens which emits a red and white flash. The lighthouse and adjacent museum are operated and maintained by the Douglas County Parks Department. Tours are offered May 1 through September 30

Easy lake loop

Dunes are impressive and beautiful. Trail not clearly marked in the dunes, and very tough climbing in the soft sand. Trail section in the woods was nice and easy.

Nice little trail for stretching the legs. A quaint lake to walk around. The east edge is near a campground. You won't see it, but for a brief while you Massey hear talking. Also, sounds from the parking lot and nearby dune buggies carry to the east side. I'd recommend walking the trail clockwise so the least disturbed is near the end. On the west side, a short trail takes you to see the dunes. Be aware this is where the dune buggies are active, so it's not pristine or quiet. Also, the last 20 meters you need to take to see the dunes are step and sand, so it's a bit tough to navigate.

Wonderful loop with nice views of the lake all the way around...Love the little beach and picnic areas to relax and enjoy the scenery...Be careful with roots on trail as some are hardly visible

Cool dunes.

Pretty and easy stroll thru a unique forest ecosystem and out onto to the dunes

A very easy trail with a moderate number of hikers. There are a few nice spots for a Picknick, reading a book, or drawing. There is also a small beach with access to the lake. Great for letting little children play. A fork in the trail leads to the dunes and opens to an amazing view. Unfortunately, the dunes are infested with ATVs that race around there and polite the area with loud noise.

This is a nice little hike around Lake Marie. We often take it to stretch our legs, and let the dog get out and snoop around. Our Grandson likes to play on the little beach. Close to a light lunch and beautiful sites.

Very sandy

Nice easy trail around the beautiful lake.

Very easy trail looping around the lake. A campground surrounds the east side of the lake, so it's not as quiet and secluded as I thought it might be, but was still peaceful enough for a nice walk. Would make a great place for an afternoon picnic.

Beautiful little lake with a well maintained wood chip & dirt trail. Great distance to do multiple loops for more running mileage. We ran from a nearby coastal campground past the lighthouse to the lake, ran a couple loops and back.

Nice little trail around the rim of the lake. Took a pole and caught a few fish along the way. Plenty of perfect options for photography as well.

This is a short and sweet hike along the lake power packed with beauty. I love all of the signs that label the different trees, mosses, berries, etc. Many times I've been on the trail it's been foggy and overcast but it's still beautiful.

Lovely dog walk to stretch the legs on a trip south. Very well maintained, great for kids or anyone who is limited by inclines. There is also a yurt campground there, run by the State Parks that would be a great spot to stay and explore the rich hiking region that this area is.

Very easy hike around a small but beautiful lake. A short detour to the west takes you to an overview of the dunes. Perfect for kids.

My sister and I walked this trail, it was easy and a truly beautiful hike. Our church had a "Sunrise service" last spring and it took me nearly a year to get around to taking the hike, but it was great.
