I had this place on my bucket list for 15 years! I chose this to do for my birthday this year! We went on 12/8. This place is magical and far exceeded my hopes!

Try to park at the gate on Port Dr. Then take the long loop back after the Knoll. Pleasant walk. Albeit very muddy.

The road up had snow on it but was manageable in my chevy Cruz. The road to the peak is closed, but not the lower parking lot were the Trailhead is. This is a fee area($5). The hike had lots of spots of snowmelt runoff, meaning you had to step around the water or where boots to get passed. The trail wasn't very busy, only a few other groups seen. The hike though covered in a few inches of snow and occasionally mud or water was manageable by myself and my 9 year old. The hike: Snow covered forests with icicles on fallen trees. Some polypores and hiding fungi can be found on the way to the peak. The trail is easy to follow, with some signs and no side trails. The upper parking lot and peak were windy with snow being picked up by gusts leaving the area white with a foggy appearance. A layer of ice covers the top ridge and can be hard to walk through. There is a bathroom at the bottom Trailhead as well as the top parking lot. This was a nice winter hike, good for the exercise and snowy landscape. Few wildlife was seen on the hike, and I look forward to hiking this trail in spring.

Only went up to the knoll. It's a little muddy but a steady and gradual incline and then beautiful views of the King Tide over Lincoln City.

A rainy and windy hike today and it was excellent! I did the 3-mile out and back in one hour. The suspension bridge is very cool, and the waterfall was flowing furiously.

Went this morning 1-8-2020, weather was wet, but not bad, 38 degrees when we started. Trail itself was in excellent shape. The trail is absolutely beautiful and the suspension bride was awesome. The falls were beautiful with an amazing amount of water flowing

Gorgeous scenery. The trail can be narrow at several points, alongside steep drop offs. It’s an easy hike, but this is one I would say dogs definitely need to be kept on leash. The risk of having a loose dog knock someone off the trail is higher here, so definitely respect the leash laws. Easy enough for sure footed little ones with plenty of places to stop along the short hike to the top of the falls. Part of the trail is blocked by a low creek (at least in rainy season) but still easily passable.

Road Muddy in some spots today, needed 4 wheel drive. Trail Muddy in several spots but doable. All worth the reward at the end. As you come around the final corner...You see Niagra in the distance and then BAMMM Pheasant Creek Falls ,sprinkling your face. Love these 2 falls! Spectacular! Hike back is mostly up hill but you gotta love the switchbacks and bridges!,

Trail was great. Nice to have multiple options. The worst thing is the homeless camp that’s in the parking lot.

Went in the early afternoon on a Saturday, very wet with a lot of rain. Muddy the entire way in, which is mostly downhill, but was dry on the way out, mostly slight uphill coming out. Coming out didn’t seem as muddy. Suspension bridge across to the falls is really cool. Great view of cascading falls. Well worth the short hike

Started this trail from ‘Dune Lake’. Has many benches to stop and rest. With short elevation changes, sandy spots and mostly wooded areas it’s a good relaxing run. It makes a big loop like the map shows. When you get to the beach parking lot the trail continues to the left. Then it shits you out in Sutton Campground ‘A Loop Group Restrooms’, go left to ‘Site A13’ then cut left to ‘B Loop’ around ‘Site A18’ stay left to ‘Site B13’ there is a bridge over the creek. After the bridge; Right takes you back to the Sutton Lake Boat Ramp parking lot and Left keeps you on the trail. There are exposed roots on many parts of the trail. Careful while running (ankle breakers). * Vault toilets; Beach parking lot / Sutton campground / Sutton Boat ramp / Alder Dunes campground. * GPS works. * Parking pass required if you are parking in any of the Parking lots / Campgrounds (Sutton / Sutton Boat Ramp / Alder Dunes / Buck Lake is PRIVATE.

The short: an amazing hike offering views of three large waterfalls. The trail is steep, crosses a few tiny waterways, and the whole hike can be done by young kids though part of the trail could be challenging. The long: the trail is somewhat muddy but easy to follow and navigate with no real side routes. Most the water ways that cross the trail can be stepped over easily. The rocks on the trail are very slick at this time. The falls are amazing though you won't be getting close enough to touch them unless you go off the trail over difficult terrain. For Botany/Micology enthusiasts, there is quite a variety out here. Wild ginger among other plants make this trail so green and lush, you might think it's spring. Spots of polypores and a variety of Fungi and coral mushroom dart the trails sides.

This hike experience was great. Very muddy!! This time of season is not ideal to do this hike. I didn’t get to climb up to the gods thumb due to the mud and it was extremely windy I was scared I would fall off. I can’t wait to do this hike when it’s nicer out.

New Year’s Day, lots of people walking w dogs. Super chill forest, lots of old growth, def recommend but feels less wild since you could alternatively just drive to the top. Ran up and down, nice and soggy but soft trail. Too foggy for any type of view at the top.
