Intended on hiking this early today, when parking I saw two cars with windows smashed in, decided against it just as a heads up to everyone. I was very excited to do the hike but didn’t want to deal with that.

Went in early October, beautiful scenery with mossy trees and trickling mini waterfalls. Lots of poison oak popping up so just and avoid it. Trail pretty narrow the whole way with steep drop offs to river so had to hold the 2 year old almost the entire trail. 8 year old loved it though and had no problems.

Don’t bother with this one, unless you love disappointment and mosquitoes. There is a geocache here that is a quick grab. The myrtle tree is burnt out and not impressive. Save yourself and hike the Redwoods.

Love the hike. It was beautiful this time of year and the weather was perfect. Watch out because it’s super rocky and if you trip and fall you could go off the edge as the path is super narrow. I tripped and fell on my way back to my car. I’m a fairly new hiker so it was likely me and not the trail though.

Did both sides of the river. Beautiful hike.

Loved this hike! The scenery is beautiful. And there are some smaller trails off the main trail to get to the beaches by the water. I’ll definitely be back to hike this trail again.

This would be a nice hike if it weren't for the rude and dangerous mountain bikers. It is called Toothpick for a reason, very narrow often with no room on either side and the bikers come flying down the hill not even having the decency to tell you there are others behind them. Definitely not good for taking your dog.

I have little respect for these bikers.

Love this hike! watch out for poison oak!

Good trail, but not for everyone since you have to climb over and go under some logs. Perfect weekend for wild flowers.

It's a great hike, but certainly not for anyone who brings a big dog. The trail is very narrow and extremely rocky at certain points. I would also caution against bringing young, inexperienced children on this trail.

Not the experience I was looking for... Out on the edge of this I came across a guy that was growing pot. As I got farther down the trail I heard several gunshots so I cut it short and got out of the area...

This is not an easy trail. If you are not agile and long legged, you are in for trouble. Some of the "steps" are too tall for most average person. Yes, the falls are fantastic, but go understanding the terrain. The last step is a knee killer.

This is a beautiful area, but not great for hikers. There were multiple groups of mountain bikers and we had to be constantly be ready to jump off the trail. If you’re a mountain biker, this is a great trail!

Go to the other side of the river and hike whiskey creek. It’s way better.

this was an awesome Trail did not realize how stupid was close to the top but we managed with a toddler screaming at us the whole time LOL

Great hike. Path a little confusing at times but worth it. Beautiful views of river and falls. Would wear hiking boots instead of sneakers next time.

Took Kid 2 on this trail. 11 year old had no trouble and it was a nice short walk. We took took our time and talked about we saw, so it was about 25 minutes. This is easily a 10 minutes walk in and out.
It is a bit soft and a bit muddy in places right now. Totally passable with no problem, though.
Knee warning, it is all uphill on the way in so those looking for a short walk with bad knees should pass.

Snow covered some of the trail but it was a beautiful hike. We were the only two the whole time so it was nice to have the solitude. Some trees are across the path also but easy to climb over or under. It was a great hike.

New favorite hike near Grants Pass. Easy to find, lots of views. A must do :)

I hiked this trail with my kids recently and in our opinion, it wasn't the most interesting trail in the area. We much prefer the Little Falls Loop and the Boardwalk Interpretive trail. If you want to see more of the boardwalk and the Jeffrey pine trails, here is a link to our YouTube video in which we document our hikes. :) https://youtu.be/lPJ7wtx5iG0

Beautiful. Rocky paths with random waterfalls crossing the trail. Shaded the entire way. The falls are more of a drop in the river and less fall but a nice spot to have a snack and sit down. Hike is between easy and moderate. If your kids are hikers and know how to be safe, this trail is fine but if they’re they type of kids that don’t understand potential dangers, I would say skip this trail. There are a couple of drop offs but enough room to be safe as long as you’re paying attention. I wasn’t scared at all but I could see where some people could be.

Husband and I stumbled upon this trail and it was fantastic can’t wait to go again!

This is nice, but not what I was expecting. You hike to a rapid in the river, not “falls”. Lots of rocks with no trail at times. Still better than being indoors. Hiked this in December.

Passed this one many times on the way to Oregon Trail 1106 and 1107. Was on the way there again today and decided to stop and do this one instead. Nice hike with a little up and down but pretty simple. The dogs enjoyed it with no one else around. A lot of deer and elk sign. I thought I heard an elk bugle but I don't know if it'e the right time of the year for them to be doing that or not...

Nice little walk along the river...but I would NOT recommend going out of your way to see.

Very hot in August! Great for biking!

So beautiful! The weather today was perfect for this hike and the views were breathtaking. Pretty easy hike with a few inclines but nothing to difficult. Narrow trails which makes passing people with a dog a little difficult but it wasn’t too busy early in the morning so it was fine. Beautiful hike, I’d definitely recommend it.

This trail was gorgeous! the views of the river were great and we even saw a river otter!

however, from the trail head to the falls and back was 4.9 miles and not kid friendly.

great hike with awesome views! Just lots of rocks and steep drop offs..leave the kids behind for this one!

Definitely the busiest of the Ashland Watershed trails that I've hiked, and by busy I mean the most people I've ever run into is probably 10. I have to agree with Deborah Dols in that heading out on Lamb Mine is awesome and beautiful and pretty untrafficked. Check it out!
