If you do all 10 waterfalls it ends up being more like a 9.1 mile hike that you can do in 4ish hours. We used our Apple watches to track the mileage. It’s a fairly easy hike, just long. So worth it!

I took one star off because there's always quite a few people when I go. It's great that more people are out adventuring, but sometimes there's just so many, that it feels like your just in another tourist attraction.

The hike itself is fun, and gorgeous. Be prepared, and make sure you have dry stuff, waterproof stuff to wear (especially on your feet).

Had a fun walk, it's pretty, there's room for adventure for the kiddos as well.

Nice 4hr hike with beautiful falls!

This was an absolutely beautiful hike. I went last weekend 5/12 and it was great weather. Portland was supposed to be 80 degrees so I wanted to do something out of the city. Much of the trail is shaded by trees and the open parts of the hike were short. I thought the hike was very easy to do, there were some gnarly uphills but overall very fun and a great day trip!!

Great hike! Recommend parking at South Falls parking lot. Stay too the right for full hike.

Hands down one of my favorite places I’ve been. We got there as soon as the park opened and had the whole place to ourselves. This truly is a gem, and absolutely gorgeous!

This is a fairly easy hike with good views of old growth forest. The path shown in AllTrails is a little misleading. The loop is via Trail 214 and extends to the Smith Creek Trail, Old Maple Trail/Cut Off Trail, and Howard Creek Trail. There are many different loops you can make along the Smith Creek Trail, so pick the one you’re most comfortable with. The only difficult part was returning East to West along the northern prt of Trail 214, where there is a hill that will require a prodigious amount of effort to get to the top. The trail is of good quality and had few people on it, allowing for some solitude. Overall the trail is fun and makes for a good day-hike.

Make sure to see all the falls and hike the full trail. Totally worth the effort, but please be prepared. We saw a lot of tourist without proper gear and it did get pretty crowded in the afternoon so I recommend going early.

You start the trail with a 4 mile up hill climb. This wouldn’t be so bad, but a lot of the road is large uneven rock. Then once at the top you get to enjoy the downhill action. The trail is fun. It’s not smooth groomed rollers. But it was not bad either. If your within 40ish minutes of this trail you should give it a try.

Great trail for both hiking and mountain biking. Though it is more suited for mtb. This trail is not a loop. If you're hiking you would start from the parking lot trailhead (bottom) and hike to the end (top). Then turn around and hike back. Mountain bikers use the road to ride to the "top" so they can ride mostly downhill on the way back. The map makes it look like the road is part of the trail. Avoid Newt loop unless you're on a bike. There are no waterfalls on this trail. Just a heads up so you don't waste your time if that's what you're looking for.

Hiked the Trail of Ten Falls again. It was awesome as usual. Now there are special memories with this location attached to a spiritual retreat I took a year or two earlier.

Absolutely beautiful! Definitely hike the full trail. The waterfalls at the last part ended up being my favorite.

Worth it to hike the full trail. Stunning waterfalls

One of my favorite trails. Perfect for rainy or sunny day.

Beautiful waterfalls along an easy trail. Surprisingly pristine for the amount of traffic.

North and South falls were my favorites. 5 dollars for a day pass (the machines accept mastercard and visa).

Good Trail. Took Canyon Trail on the way back. It was awesome. Dogs are not allowed on the Canyon Trail however.

Beautiful moss covered everything with varied terrain. A great place test out some gear or break in new boots due to the varying terrain. I experienced gravel, dirt, water over rocks, moss covered paths, inclines, declines, lightly showered with water from waterfalls, etc.
Waterfalls of all shapes and sizes can be seen from varying angles and directly behind.
This includes some of the smaller day trails; definitely worth experiencing.
Plenty of parking available; five dollar parking for the day at south trail. Also, there is a picnic area, small cafe, and restrooms at the south trail entrance. There's some parking at the north trail, not nearly as much as at south trail. There is a single privy at north trail also.
Definitely recommend if in the area. Not to be missed.

Beautiful and moderate hike. It was worth to hike 10 miles. It rained and we were equipped. Wear waterproof hiking shoes, raincoat, and bring plenty of water and protein bars. We hiked this trail in March 2017.

Falls, falls and 8 more falls. This is one of the premier locations in Oregon for waterfalls per square mile. If you love waterfalls, a good moderate hike and Oregon greenery, this is a must see. Giant waterfalls all along the trail with some opportunities to follow the trail behind the falls. Great photo ops, and spots to stop, relax, and maybe eat some lunch. The only negative is the popularity of this State park. Lots of people on trail and many out of towners. Good excuse to meet some new people though. If you aren't into that, hit the trail early to avoid the crowds.

quite a bit busier than i was expecting, even after reading other reviews, but there is plenty of parking.

plenty of paths to choose from
plenty of sites to see
close to Salem
decent amount of people
but most are decent

Oregon’s finest trail besides the crowds!

Beautiful hike. Awesome little log buildings with a cafe and fire place. Lots of people, and some trash on the ground throughout the hike. If you only have 2 days to live, do this hike before you die. Promise. 撚

Beautiful walk even in the rain!

This trail was fantastic. The views were gorgeous. The trail was an easy walk which, although a little wet, was wide and flat. There were little to no roots and my 3 kids loved it. The youngest is 6 and they weren't even tired afterwards.

Great flow after a rain on snow event made this mid March hike truly epic. The falls on this hike are impressive from beginning to end. Easy to moderate hike, mid week is best for avoiding the crowds. Good coffee and food at the lodge

Always love coming here, weekdays are perfect if you want a less crowded experience! Be careful on the stairs and watch your head!
