Sarah Helmick is located six miles south of Monmouth off Highway 99W. Helmick lies along the floodplain of the Luckiamute River and is forested in Douglas fir, grand fir, maple, ash, Port Orford cedar and cottonwood. There are two reservation picnic areas for groups up to 150 people each. Electricity, water, picnic tables and restrooms are provided at each site. There is plenty of shade from the bigleaf maples that tower above you. A quiet spot to walk along the trails that border the Luckiamute River, with plenty of birds and native plant life to investigate.

A run is what you make it, but I had to run back and forth on this trail a lot to make it much of anything. A few spots of overhang were fun to duck under. This is really a picnic and river area though, don't come for the trail

very muddy and overgrown. super short. not worth going to walk unless you are already there.

Pretty much just a short, overgrown, muddy trail from the parking lot to the river and along the riverbank.

Tucked away little jewel, but more of a nice family picnicking area than trail. A squirrel could run it in 3 minutes. Still, a quite, peaceful place and worth a stop off.

Very muddy in winter months.

Small, fun trail; my dog and I loved roaming it. Beautiful autumn setting. Would definitely go there again.

This trail is off the beaten path, in a pretty little area. It's very easy and a very short trail. A little bit of downhill hiking, if you want to go down to the river. It would be a great place to take a picnic and have a bit of peace and quiet.
