Hiked from Target Meadows campground (adds about 1 mile round trip to the total). From the campground to the bridge it was about 8 miles round trip and 2,300 ft. elevation gain, so a pretty killer hike. Pro's: Beautiful views, wildflowers everywhere, fresh blueberries on the trail Con's: Might not be the payout people are looking for with a hike of that elevation gain, but still an awesome hike

Hiked 4 miles of the trail (south leg, 8 miles total going out and back) with my hubby the weekend I moved to Pendleton to see what the local green spots are like. It’s really beautiful with varied shade, a nice river spot to sit and relax, and some nice views. I want to do the whole loop someday, but I want to get a machete first, as bushwhacking is a literal thing on this trail - the trail doesn’t seem to be used much, and is really overgrown in many places. There were a few points where the brush was so thick, the only way I could tell I was on the path was feeling the pounded earth under the overgrowth.

We started from Target Meadows and made it almost to the bridge. It was a alright on the way down but very hard on the way back up. Beautiful scenery! Definitely worth the work.
