Well marked. Not many people. Lush beautiful forest.

Loved it!!!

It's a pretty trail in the arboretum, that is away from the roads, so that's nice.

A lot to see from the foliage, some really neat trees. Not a lot in terms of landscape, the forest along the trail is just so dense. Well maintained and some steep segments, would make for a great run I think and I am to run it soon

Pretty nice loop.

I love this trail! So much to see, I did the whole loop this morning and never saw another human being! They have done quite a bit of logging on the south side, reveals the gnarly old , majestic surviving individuals. I took the connector trail up to the 530, then crossed the 500 and returned down to Cronemiller Lake by the trail. Back to the car, is almost 4 miles.

OSU does a very good job maintaining this trail. It's in very good condition and well marked. However, expect a lot of other users and know that ALL dogs will be unleashed even though there are ample signs throughout indicating dogs must be leashed. Aggressive, charging dogs, one off his rocker aggressive, screaming dog owner, and bags of poop scattered throughout are reasons enough for me to say one visit is enough. Also, mtn bikers ride the hiking trails, so watch for them too. Better yet, go somewhere else. There is nothing relaxing about this place. Sorry OSU.

Loved this trail. It was difficult at some points then eased up at others to make for a good workout without annihilating my legs. The scenery was beautiful and the trails well kept. Will definitely be going back here.

this was a pretty easy hike, my baby and I did it on a rainy day I was pushing a jogging stroller and carrying her most of the way.

I hiked the loop this evening. The trail was open. The logging seems to be done. What a great 3 mile running loop.

Finding the signs is tricky so be on the lookout! Beautiful area with tons of natural sounds and sights. Some steady inclines and declines to be expected. Bring a snack and enjoy it!

We didn't get to finish the hike, as part of the trail is blocked off so that they can cut down some trees. This was on 4/7/2016. I don't know how long it will be closed off for.

How do you get to the trail

The trail is amazing! Watch out because it is not well marked. One time I ended up walking 10 miles, another 5. The map is a little tricky.
Give yourself plenty of time in case you get lost.

Easy, pretty hikes in this area. Nice for during the week, close to town and lots of options for shorter and long-ish hikes. Crowded

Great trail right outside of Corvallis, for biking and hiking!

Pretty, scenic Oregon forest trail. The trail markings aren't the clearest I've seen, but it's not that hard to get your bearings. Wish other dog owners would clean up after their pets, though. Poor form.

Calloway Creek trail is a good walking trek. A previous reviewer mentioned parking just off the highway, but the trail is part of the larger Peavey Arboretum and McDonald-Dunn Forest. There is plenty of off road parking, for dozens of vehicles in the Arboretum. There are several different ways to access this trail which has multiple trailheads. Moreover, the trail intersects with many other trails and parts of the forest. It's an instructional trail with many opportunities to see and learn about forests and their management. This is not the best trail in the system, but it's a good place to start. I recommend from here one goes to the trails on Lewisberg Saddle.

I grew up running this trail with friends since i lived less than a mile away. I was on it a couple of years ago and agree its a bit run down and needs maintenance

I'm not sure if I was aloud to ride here but it's a good course to do multiple times. If you're looking for a work out there's a road past the "lake" which is a very good climb if you're riding a bike. Awesome few at the top.

Great rides on a bike. Many ways to access the trails. You can enter at the end of 29th Street, at the end off Lester Ave. (riding over Chip Ross Park and then down into the woods)., or from forest roads starting at the Oak Creek Station or Sulfur Spring Road.

You can bike from anywhere in Corvallis if you want to avoid using a car, if you have a car.

These are all weather trails very nicely maintained and almost too groomed. A lot of the roots and snags and rocks and "hard stuff" have been removed so it's not that difficult a climb. As a result, the descent can be very fast.

Dan's Trail goes from Chip Ross Part to the top of Dimple Hill and is a nice ride for an afternoon.

Horse Trail Loop is a rigorous loop that starts at the intersection of the road from the backside of Crescent Valley High loop, and Upper Dan's Trail. Parts of Horse Trail are forest road with pretty rough crushed rock. Parts of Horse Trail are well mannered single track up some sinuous and steep sections. Together, these make for a nice long ride over a variety of surfaces.

Take water and food as you'll want to replenish your energy stores several times along the way.

This trail was beautiful and very well maintained. We did cross paths with about 8 people over the 4 hours we spent on the trails exploring. The area is amazingly beautiful and quite cool on hot days.
