All the other trails are closed like no access. Stick to the paved trails and it’s an easy little path!

This beautiful trail is nestled into the sounds of nature and gives plenty of space so that multiple groups can explore the area at one time . There is a few trails that cut off this loop. The issue is that the trails are not well marked . If you stick to the wider paths you should stay mostly on the river loop trail but other unmarked trails connect to it so just be aware of your intended destination. Happy walking/hiking!

This was fun, we went off the trail a little and walked closer to the water as well

1/4-1/2 paved. We came down through the off-leash dog park area. there is a land bridge over to the island, and it was lovely. Depending on which trails you take to get there, some are muddy.

Fun trail at Mary S Young. There were signs that said Cedar Island wasn’t accessible until April 15 at the earliest, but the water level was low enough to get across. Once you’re on Cedar Island, there really aren’t maintained trails. The path can get muddy & slippery so be careful. Great views of the Willamette River. Dog friendly.

Great trail - lots of beautiful views down by the river. Dog friendly. In fact, there is a nice off-leash area by the river for your pup. This trail can get fairly crowded, but is easy to follow and well maintained.

Nice trail with a lot of decent views. I would recommend one of the river trails over the other trails at Mary S. Young because of the variety in scenery. Dog friendly. Some sections are good for trail running, but not the whole thing.

This is a fairly easy trail. It’s basically flat the whole way around except for a couple quick steep switchbacks to get through these little gullies. Dog friendly. Good for trail running. These trails are beautiful, but it’s all the same after a while. I would recommend going down to the river to get a little more variety in scenery.

This is a very short walking trail along the soccer fields at Mary S Young. Compared to the rest of the park, this trail doesn’t have much scenery. Dog friendly. Good for trail running - many other trails nearby.

Very short loop located right next to the parking lot. Gives a taste of what Mary S Young has to offer. Decent scenery. Dog park nearby - trail is dog friendly, as well. There are also a lot of picnic tables to sit down at.

The park is interesting and beautiful but the trails are not at all well marked. Maintained and some partially paved, but lots of splits and side trails with no clear marking on which way to follow.

Beautiful. Easy stroll but still a lot of amazing views.

Beautiful trail! Some parts paved, other parts not. Mostly shaded with a couple of open areas with benches to sit or eat.

One of my absolute favorite river beaches ever and it’s right in the city! Excellently maintained trails and multiple of leash areas make this one of our top 5 favorite spots in Portland

OUR go to place to take the Dawgs

excellent for off leash river area and large off-leash lawn area with hose and water for dogs. it is about a mile, give or take on a mostly paved path down to the river. lots of children, in what i suspect is a day camp, during the week—but i didn’t see them at the off leash dog area on the river.

love the walk and the park. careful of the no leash areas if you have a dog! the loop around the beach gets rocky without a path.

Busy trail in west Linn. Lots of dogs and families.

Solid little spot for my van down by the river. I saw plants and trees and a random fire hydrant on the trail. A lovely little spot.

Small section of switchbacks but perfect for trail running

Great for an easy walk in the park

This was a great little hike for our kids, 6 & 10. There are many trail options throughout this Mary S. Young park. definitely going back.

Great little hike for my young family. The trail is well maintained and not too difficult.
